aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

\\ adult / maiden / Aurora Borealis / heart aches for Cody \\

I sit quietly listening and watching the exchange of the two males. When Kong turns again to me and smiles, my own instantly widens. There's something in his eyes that I can't quite decipher. I see a certain deep gratitude there mixed with something else. He was like that protective older brother every little girl wanted. Without really realizing it, we had come to depend upon each other more than I think either of us knew. I'm all too aware of both of the wolves who's company I keep and I catch Kong's brow raise out of the corner of my eye. I give him a quick, sheepish shrug before turning back to Kal.

The intent stare his icy pools held me with made me squirm. I wasn't very fond of being analyzed. Still, I did my best to hold myself there, not show him my discomfort. His eyes on me make heat creep up my neck, dying my skin a deep red color beneath my fur. I'm praying he doesn't see it. I'm not exactly sure what I'm feeling and even less sure that I want him to know about it. My thoughts jumped to Kong, wondering what he must be thinking of this little dance his friends were partaking in.

Kal's fleeting smile seemed sort of awkward and overly careful to me. I returned it, a timid pulling of lips on my part. Still, my twin fire gaze shone as bright as ever with all of my strong-willed spirit focused onto him. There was a silent promise in me, a promise to never leave him again. Not in any way, body or mere sight. I would be here for this pack. I would fight for it like I fought for Cody, for Zag. I wasn't a naive little adolescent anymore. I could hold my own in this big, scary, unforgiving world. And I would. I would fight with everything I had to protect my home. For, this was all I had left. Just these lands and Kong and Kal. That's it.

My audettes pricked towards the slate dipped titan when his vocals touched the air. A alliance with Saw Tooth, eh? I took a moment to contemplate the mission he had issued. I really did need to get my furry ass out of Aurora. It had been far too long. Since Cody disappeared for the second time. I rose to my paws, shooting a quick glance at Kong, hoping he wouldn't mind if I took the job. I would be happy to travel to Saw Tooth and speak with Moth. My tone was an odd mix of timid and strong. It sounded foreign to my own towers but still I stood, awaiting the words of the regal.

words.
