The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

Stop this shit right now. Kobato was vaguely aware of the gladiator resituationg her head so that it did not fall back to the hard ground and jumble the contents. What the fuck is your problem, huh? This isn't like you, kid. You're acting like... He stopped when she had rasped for help. Her portals flickered in and out, the blurry edges becoming more and more persistant to take over her darkening vision. A twinge of fear encased her, and she became hyper aware of the sounds all around. The wind brought with it the rustling of leaves on trees... They whispered to each other softly, sharing secrets that only they oculd understand. They sounded excited... glorified almost. Perhaps they wished to hurry her on her way so that the nutrients in her small body could be absorbed for a better cause than what they were being used for right now. Hurry, they cooed. Hurry and meet him. The places where he touched her... his paw, the blood... they glowed with warmth. Warmth that she could not put a source to. O, they burned, they ached, they rotted... His voice erupted into her drums once more. Yeah, I know, you're tired, I know you are kid, it's pretty fucking obvious. Then let me sleep, her dial begged, pleading for a final release. Let me sleep... Calm down, dumbass. You're breathing wrong. Just--just inhale, okay. You're all right, kid, you're okay. Her portals met his own optical units and she could see the understanding sweep its way into his brain cells. It lit him up like a firefly, it did. A snarl scratched the atmosphere, a grotesque sound that almost brought the nausea back up again. She didn't want to be there... Something wet splashed onto her cheek, rolled down the side of her muzzle and played around the edges of her mouth. It was salty... She saw him lean in towards her. She saw his mug open and his daggars poise themselves above her throat. A strike of panic swept through her and she swallowed hard, inhaling deeply before he gripped her throat and shook like there was no tomorrow. Like a rag doll-- that was how she reacted to it. She let him move her as he willed. She did not have any incentive to do anything else. He was a titan in her eyes. Someone who got their way. Someone who commanded. His orders were expected to be followed.

Her dial slammed against the terra, a thundering pain erupting in the back of her skull. Her portals closed in earnest and her brows furrowed as she opened her mouth and let out a scream. It was a scream that should have chilled any blood that lingered within a mile radius of her. It froze her own blood solid, causing her to go in and out of conciousness as the sound continued. She screamed for her father, she screamed for Serris. She screamed for Mateo and Vladya. She screamed for the dulling of Ioryogi's portals. She screamed for the way the trees were maliciously writing a calling card for the devil to come and take her away. She screamed at the pain. Willed it to go away. But it stayed. Just as she stayed on the world. It stayed put, cementing her to the earth and keeping her soul intact. Beside her head were two large towers that kept her in place. They forced her to look upwards. They beckoned to her. Her breath ran out and suddenly, she gasped for the precious atmosphere. She couldn't remember why she had stopped taking gulps of the precious element in the first place. But it all came back to her full throttle when he opened his jowls and threw his passion right at her. You will NOT die! That's right... he was a commander. His orders were to be followed. You will LIVE because you are MINE, and NOTHING will ever harm you again because I WILL KILL IT BEFORE IT HAS THE CHANCE. Her own salted tears boiled over in her toffee stargazers and she let out a silent scream as he moved his nape down and placed a kiss on her head. Like everywhere else that had been touched... it burned like the fiery pits of hell. Her vision disappated at a quicker rate now... but it was more subtle than it had been before. It was not rushed... it was steady and even. She could feel her lungs raise her chest higher and higher and finally the ribs would go down, down, down... the process would be repeated over and over again. Something heavy hit the princess's breast and she struggled in figuring out just what it was. She was still staring up at him, bleary-eyed, so close to death, yet so far away from it... that's when the true fire hit. Whatever he had placed on her burned her to her core. A reaction from her was exactly what was needed to be seen. Although she did not think she had managed to push through the hardest part of her depression, her body knew that Vladya had pulled her up out of it. She bit her lip viciously, sending blood down her chin, staining her throat red. The pain signified that she was still alive and breathing.

The space where the heat was burning got even larger as he moved what she guessed rightly to be his paw. There his harsh voice ripped into her domes. I fixed it. And that's exactly where she left him. She nodded slowly and then closed her eyes, breathing just as he had told her to. His words still echoing in her head as she faded off into a slumber that would most likely last two or three days straight. Still, beneath his pillar, her heart pounded.
