aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Leila’s eyes traced the youth’s grey body that was cradled and clasped to the ground, pressing into a smaller tumble of fur with paws tucked beneath his figure. The spectre’s vibrant sun kissed eyes held not the amusement as they seemed to normally possess but pity for the anxious pup that quivered before her. He did not seem to be soothed by her gentle smile accompanied by soft lilting words that flowed from her maw. She was not good or experienced at comforting pups – what should she say? What should she do? The phantom had reached at the conclusion that being as soft as possible but still remaining to do the inquiring. She hoped that Tyson could possibly shatter the barrier from his wall of anxiety. She were around the same age but Leila was unsure if Tyson would be partially too boisterous. She inquired his situation here, whether he had arrived to join or something else. For a while the pup did not speak. It did not trouble Leila as she had nothing to do at this moment of time. But at last the adolescent gathered himself and spoke a mess of trembling lyrics – at least it got to the point. He had agreed that he wished to join. The spectre’s mandible spread into a generous smile, she nodded briefly. It was time to call Kalgalath then.

She slithered down, descending towards the soft ground where a few leaves littered the area. “Why are you so frightened? I am going to call the alpha now but do not worry my dear – he’s a big softie really.” Leila stated with lyrics quiet and unnerving. She scrambled into a sitting position, comfortable on her haunches. On the white of her stomach, bits of twisted mud resided in her trap of fur. Her muzzle rose as a long wind caressing her body. Her maw faced upwards, towards the dim Sun that lit their whole world. She allowed a long but attentive howl to twist up into the air and travel into the lobes of any travellers. It was directed to Kalgalath though, alerting his requirement to be at the borders. Finally her body twisted down to the earth once again, facing the youth that quivered and shook.

“What is your name then?” She inquired curiously, her ears perking with eagerness for knowledge. “I am Leila… You shouldn’t be so anxious you know – you have arrived to a good pack, possibly the best. There is another pup here too, he is called Tyson. Kalgalath is our alpha and as long as you are respectful towards him I see no reason for him to deny you a home here.” Her information was short lived, just like her knowledge about the pack. She had not yet discovered all the wolves who resided in this terrain. She still hungered for all of the knowledge of the pack – who were they? Would they accept her friendship? Eager to learn was Leila but impatience was something that burned as flaws. Her ears flickered around, hoping that the king of Aurora Borealis would not be too long in arrival.
