News 03.28.20

Get with me if you want to move up in rank. I'm going to change up the pack tasks for a little change of pace.

Congratulations to Adrian on her promotion to Governess. She will handle the guidance and teaching of our young pups in Iromar.

If you have a ^ next to your name, that means you're up for promotion so see me or send me a message on Discord so we can see where to move you. All others interested in specializing or getting a rank, let me know so we can figure out how to make that happen.

The pack board has been updated. If you wanted to remain a member, let me know either on here or Discord and I'll get you back on the board. Otherwise, let's have a thread!

I know I had a couple replies for the training with Spirane so I will be starting that thread soon. Stay tuned!

I am still working on an alliance with Diveen and Asteraia so stay tuned. If you have any information or would like to help, please let me know. If anyone has any ideas to promote activity within the pack, also, let me know. I am open for plots and such! Meanwhile, thank you all for your continued support of the pack.

restless: i found your weakness

Nothing - none of it made sense. They were just... stones, antlers, bits and pieces that spelled out no more than the clouds did. Whatever answers she had sought within them, she emerged with absolutely nothing save frustration and a scowl that marked her features. She had forgotten about her desire to hide her thoughts from others, strangely comfortable with allowing Paldor that glimpse into her mind - there were questions, of the past and future, and now she breathed out with a defeated sigh. Not only had she been urged to do so through her absolutely heinous attempts of making sense of these... things but by Paldor's apparent confession. They remained in silence together, a shared moment though perhaps Ruvindra felt something... different, a stir of jealousy that crept into the lowers of her stomach. She despised it, despised the notion - the mere idea! - that there was room within herself for another. She was already full of ghosts, full of faces that slowly faded, names that slowly fell apart.

Love was a funny thing - it never left, just changed.

It's all she could muster, nodding in confirmation, some kind of solace to herself. She loved Vague and she loved her children but that love shifted, bent and at times, became something entirely different. Her love for her children had begun rose coloured, innocent and sweet but it, too, had changed - her love for Vague, too, had shifted over the years. She could openly admit it - he had begun as a mere project, a stray she had plucked and taken for herself but eventually, he had mended wounds and she had taken him truly within her heart. Now, though, she found it shifting again and she did not know who to speak to of such a thing - was it not a travesty to love another? She had always lived in sin, though, so why should such a thing surprise her. She had always loved Nero, her soul's chosen half and yet, she had trampled such a thing when she had taken Vague. She had taken Vague and yet she knew well and truly that those born to him were not entirely his - the red in their eyes gave it away, and the blood on her paws she could not wash off. Why was she so shocked to feel an ache when Paldor spoke of his heart having belonged to another? She coveted and the ghosts within her shifted aside to make room.

His smile was what warmed her, had taken her off guard and yet she found herself grinning along side it all the same. Even if it hinted at being forced, it didn't matter - it was a sight to behold nonetheless and comforted her in some small way. She had rested easy those nights, coiled up in the furthermost corner of her den far from the others - alone even when crowded, dreaming sweet nothings. It was the first moment of true rest she had been afforded in such a long time that she had forgotten her obligation to her companion - only when he called her name did she rouse, rising immediately and sliding with careful paws around Vague to the den's mouth. She flashed him a tired smile as she rose to her height, shaking her pelt free of dirt and stretching her legs out before following along side him. She was weary despite her sleep, her body feeling weighted beneath the events that had begun to unfold - part of her dreaded the idea of breaking such news to Ishtar. It was an abnormality, how were they to anticipate how she would take the idea of a seer? Ruvindra knew well that she was the body that would take the teeth if it went wrong. Was there no greater sacrifice than blood?

"That would be a first," is all she says of Paldor's remark, her eyes narrowed and ears back against her skull. It was a sore spot, though one she had learnt to hide - four remained, four of nine when she considered her daughter who had been born without a breath. She couldn't help but take his words with a grain of salt, her pace quickening in an effort to avoid further... questioning. The sooner they found Ishtar the better, right?

Seemingly Paldor took a different approach when it came to waking their queen - she almost regretted taking her position beside him, half expecting a flurry of fangs to launch out directly. Still, she could not help but chuckle so quietly beneath her breath - bravery or sheer foolishness? It was a fine line at times but nonetheless, she would move along side him wherever he moved, mirroring his every action all while meeting Ishtar with a level gaze and dip of her skull. She could understand Ishtar's concern of her son - no mother could deny it: there was nothing worst than a screaming, infuriated child. Still, it was pleasantly surprising to be greeted without a sudden wound and she breathed out a sigh of relief, settling back onto her haunches and coiling her fox-like tail around her limbs. She said nothing, waiting for Paldor to explain himself before she chimed in, confirming her own words with a subtle nod.

"Believe him," she breathed, passing him a side ways glance as she braced herself just so slightly - you never knew - "I have encountered wolves like him before; I have birthed a wolf like him before. Their words bring a truth to them that is difficult to understand, but stands as truth nonetheless."

You could not convince a wolf, or anything for that matter, that the future - the past - was laid out before another. She could try, at least, to give some small comfort, some small token of the fact that ultimately, Ishtar was not alone.

PACK RANKS

Monarch
Pretty simple, Alpha of Iromar. Ultimate authority. What I say, goes.
Chief
The 'Co-Alpha'. He is her equal and has all the same authorities as she does. He is be respected and can take challenges and block steals.
Deputy
The Beta of Iromar. The most trusted wolf under the Alpha. Has all the same authorities of the Monarch in her absence. Second in command. Can block steals and take challenges.
Council
The advisor to the Monarch. One who's wisdom is often sought in matters of politics and war. Not necessarily an elder but someone the Monarch looks up to.
Trooper
The head warrior of Iromar. Shows the most skill in combat and has experience to back it up. Trains the soldiers and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Stalker
The head hunter of Iromar. Shows the most skill in hunting and providing for the pack. Tasked with leading pack hunts and teaching the pups of the pack at designated times. Trains the hunters and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Medic
The head healer of Iromar. Skilled in herbs and emergency medicine. Tasked with checking on the Monarch/Deputy after a challenge and also keeping up with mothers around birthing time. Trains the healers and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Envoy
The head diplomat in Iromar. Skilled in matters of politics and conversation. Intelligent and witty, this wolf keeps the pack together as one while reaching out to potential allies for support. Council is their direct supervisor. Trains the diplomats and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Governess
The guardian of offspring in Iromar. Skilled as a warrior and alert as a scout, this wolf is tasked with probably one of the most important jobs in Iromar, protecting the future of the pack and Moladian. They can watch the litter while the parents are off doing tasks, hunting, or just enjoying some quiet time. Can serve as guides for the pups, like having a full time guardian. Trains the teachers and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Snoop
The head spy in Iromar. Skilled in maneuverability and blending in, this wolf must be a shadow when called upon. Tasked with finding out information about other packs or wolves when called upon, this wolf must be quick as well as witty, able to make anyone believe anything. Also serves as a thief when the need arises. Trains the spies and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Chronicler
The head story teller of Iromar. This wolf has done their research on all things Iromar and Moladian. They can give a good history lesson or spin a tale on demand when the younger minds call for distraction. Able to captivate an audience. May even help with speeches for the Monarch when necessary. No one to train but the pups or even adults of Iromar when they have questions or curiosity about the past. This wolf may even be called upon by the Council at times. Can block steals.
Soothsayer
The seer of Iromar. This is a special rank made specifically for a wolf with "the sight." Consider her an advisor/spy of sorts for the alpha and rest of the pack. She/he can gather intel from outside or supernatural forces. You don't have to believe in the magic of this ability for any wolf with this rank will be respected as a ranked member of the pack. Can block steals.
Warriors- Members of the Iromar army. Skilled in combat and overseen by the Trooper.
Hunters- Providers for Iromar. Skilled in scavenging and hunting.
Healers- Doctors of Iromar. Skilled in herbs and emergency medicine for those in need.
Diplomats- Extroverts of Iromar. Skilled in politics and overall conversation.
Spies- Scouts and thieves of Iromar. Skilled in blending in and masking themselves when called upon.
Teachers- Guardians of the youth of Iromar. Skilled in defense and culture. They shape the young minds of the future.
Children-The pups of Iromar. To be cherished as they are precious for the future of the land. Shape them and mold them into something we can all be proud of.
Members- Overall pack members of Iromar. Not specialized in a particular field yet but just as important to the population.
