At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

The brute had dropped her a bit before her pads had touched the ground, and as her weight fell to the floor she stumbled forward, all of the weight on her forepaws throwing her off balance. As her emeralds glanced at the brute, she saw him spitting out the tufts of fur that he had ripped out of her scruff. Her tiny limbs had pushed her forward to travel toward the brute but at that sight, her auds wilted. Was she such a burden to him? Still, the faeling nuzzled against the brute’s limb, feeling comfort in his presence. At her touch, the brute had frozen. The little one moved away from him swiftly, stumbling over her back paws, as the brute lifted his leg. Lycaon turned away from her then, and a small bark escaped from her lips as the warmth left her.

She was going to be alone once more; she had had no friends, no family, no home to go back to. At least, not any that she could remember. She had thought that – perhaps foolishly – Lycaon would be her new family and bring her to her new home. He had been the first to even give her the time of day. Lycaon had saved her from the dark abyss of the cavern and had sated her thirst. But she didn’t let this on to the brute. Apollonia was a survivor. She had made it on her own this far, she would not go and get soft now. Already she had forgotten the frightened behavior she had displayed when it had come to dealing with the water. That was how the little faeling was: she appeared to be overconfident and cocky as often as she could, but it was just to hide the insecurities that were the real masters of her feelings. Apollonia was scared of being alone, she was scared of the dark, and of course, she was scared of the water.

The faeling’s haunches tightened as she turned away from both the lake and the brute, expecting him to tell her that he was done with her. He had fulfilled his promise and that was the end of it. But instead, she heard his deep vocals give a different command, one that paused her regression. Apollonia come here. The fae did as the brute said, her tiny limbs fully clearing the ground with each stride she took as she leapt toward the brute. “What Mister?” The brute merely sighed, and for a moment the pup thought that she had imagined the brute’s words. But then he spoke again. He called her both annoying and irritating, causing her auds to wilt and her plume to dip between her hind limbs, but then after he shook his head and continued, her plume escaped and began to wag furiously. You need a mentor Apollonia. You need someone to teach you, to train you, to mould and shape you. And seen as you have no-one else I could become your teacher. Apollonia jumped onto one of Lycaon’s legs, trying to give him an embrace but only slipped down it, her slight, tiny frame not large enough to jump on top of him.

Do you really mean it Mister Lycaon sir? You could be my daddy and I could be your little girl, and we could be a family!” Her high soprano rang out into the air as she nuzzled the titan. Already, thoughts of their future together were forming within her head, thoughts of the brute teaching her morals and lessons, how to fight and hunt... The faeling couldn't imagine a happier future possibility.
