News - SUMMER

Summer has arrived. The world has been well at peace, and others seem to be trying to take advantage. They believe we are lazy and complacent. We are no such thing. Remain vigilante, friends and family.

Give your congratulations to Maiko. She has been promoted to Blizzard; she earned it.

We also have an activity check going. Please reply so I can make adjustments accordingly. Check will go for an entire month so we can hopefully capture everyone.

As always, if you have need of me, do not hesitate to find me.

Let me guide you

I can tell that he isn't too fond of the idea of me having...friends. Male friends especially. It is sorta cute though, how overprotective he is. It also shows me that he is probably insecure. I wonder if it is because he is one of many in a family. He has brothers and sisters in numbers that I can't even count...mainly because I don't know how far this family tree goes. I do know that Isola is his older sister, and she is the alphess of the pack. I can tell that Azrael doesn't take well to such...domination. I can feel that it irritates him that he is not in charge. In all honesty, I feel the same way, though not as strongly or completely. I have my own desires to break free of this pack and establish my own. I have always wanted to be in control to prevent the hell that my old pack created. I just haven't had the chance, not yet, and now I feel I am hindered more with my children, and yet, they are the exact reason I want to break free of this as well. I want them to be a in pack that I helped create, and not live in the shadows.

He tries to distract me with his paws as he touches my shoulders. i know how much he enjoys the touch of my flesh against his. I can see it, feel it every time it happens. I have to admit that I do feel...empty when he is gone, and when he is back next to me I feel completed once again. We were mean to touch, to lay next to each other and this I know. But I am still not comfortable with his 'job', with the fact that he must be away all the time to attend to matters of killing and death. I guess it is nice to know that he could protect our children well. This, I find comforting.

As I continued on with my words, explaining about Starfall, I can tell that he is irritated. His face is so easily readable, and he couldn't hide his anger and irritation if he tried. He was not the kind to cover up such emotions...and I think it is because he feels so strongly whenever he feels, well, anything, if it be sadness, anger, rage, happiness, love. His feelings are intense and I can see the displeasure radiating off of his face. I let my own face contort with some irrititation of my own, knowing that he isn't going to be so...accepting of the culture that I grew up in. That is the downside of living here, in Diveen with his family. They are the dominant culture, and I can tell he hasn't been exposed to much more. What I view as something good, something special, he views as a threat to normality. I know that it is in fact true that other wolves around here might think he is weird, but he is my child. He is perfect the way he is and I am proud of it. I will do my best to get him through the life he was given and make sure everyone here understands it. I might actually go have a talk with Isola about this, for a feeel an alpha meant to protect the pack should know. Yes, I think I shall do that.

His words did bring a scowl to my rather fascinating features. I narrowed my eyes at him as our gazes met, letting him know just how...unhappy I was at what he was saying.

"He is what he is, Azrael. It is like asking you to change the Angel mark upon your back. You can't do it. It is who you are. And the last thing Starfall needs is for YOU to think he is broken, a freak or not good enough. It is you that has the problem, not Starfall. He needs his father to love him for who is his!"

I said my words with a bit of passion, for it is Azrael who sets the reality for Starfall. It is he who mkes the boy think he is weird and not good enough. My anger-touched face faded a bit, for the boys had decided to wake up. Guardian, being the daddy's boy he is, instantly jumped into Azrael's chest with glee. Azrael could be sweet and affectionate with his own children, as I can see right now with Guardian, and yet Guardian is the one who wishes to be exactly like him. I held nothing against Guardian, but would not be...pleased if he decided to treat Starfall differently. I did allow my tail to wag a little behind me. Guardian was sure happy to have Azrael here, and for this I am glad. I give Azrael a kind look for a moment as he meets my yellow eyes, but I am also a bit stern. I had no idea what was about the happen next.

"Yes, I suppose we can seeif they would like to try eating some meat today. Would you like that Guardian? Your father can teach you how to catch dinner, he is very good at it."

There, I gave him a compliment despite my displeasure with the fact that he had some problem with Starfall, and not to mention that he didn't treat Meryl exactly the same. My words were almost cut off with Azrael's own questioning tone towards Starfall. I turned my skull back to look, seeing that dull stare that I knew so well with Dreamwalkers. I knew to leave him alone, Starfall, unless he wandered towards the den...and he was. It was Azrael, though, that made my head twist back quickly. Guardian's words were practically ignored, and Guardian knew more of how to handle Starfall than his own father. I was very proud of Guardian for being so tolerant....something his father could learn. His voice got more snappy and I could feel a slight growl linger in my throat. It was a protective measure, instintual at anyone getting angry with a child of mine, doesn't matter if it is Azrael.

"Azrael, stop it! You will freighten him!"

My words are firm but still on the quiet side, for Starfall was next to me and I knew how the transition from one world to the other could affect him. Angry words could be very upsetting as he transitioned.

"Azrael he is Dreamwalking, he cannot help i-..."

And then of course, Azrael storms off in a rage because a puppy was walking towards him. Great. How very...mature of him. Guardian had dashed over to awaken Starfall as he usually did, something I am sure Starfall has grown confortable with. However, I saw Starfall's look as he came to, seeing his own father storm off in anger because of him. I hated to see my son sad because Azrael was being...well, stupid. Meryl was as good as a big brother as ever, coming to check in on his young siblings. I lean my muzzle in to give Starfall and Meryl each an affectionate lick, my yellow eyes laced with concern as I looked down upon them.

"Meryl, there is some food for you outside the den. Watch over them for me while I speak to Azrael, okay? You can have the best parts of the food if you want!"

I try to keep my voice nice and peppy, not wanting Meryl or the rest to feel the tension. I blink a few times, waiting for any response before I lift my form with my sturdy black limbs, out to follow Azrael with ease. I have no hesitation in sitting down right in front of him, my yellow eyes hinted with a glare in the light of the morning sun.

"What is wrong with you? Did you see that look on Starfall's face?"

I was not sure if he did see the look, of Starfall's dissapointment that his father was...scared or angry at him. I kepy my eyes upon my imprint, holding steady as I await his reply. He better explain himself well, or I will not be too happy. This is our day off and I wanted to spend it together, not with Azrael sulking in a corner.
