Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

He giggled as he pushed through the forest. Twigs snagged at his long fur, and his petals just brushed the lowest branches of the trees. He fluttered them indignantly, suddenly annoyed. Breaking into a gentle lope, he weaved through the trees, his petals catching on the branches still. He was so annoyed! Why did hese stupid branches insist on annoying him? They reached down with long fingers, grasping at his silky coat and tugging at his ears. In frustration he snapped at them, breaking off a few twigs, and the branches slid away with a hiss. Satisfied, he skidded to a halt.

Mist reached out and wound itself around his legs. Tendrils of it snaked up and tickled his nose. He sneezed, jumped back. The mist around him cleared but quickly reformed. He grinned. This was good. It wanted to play with him! The mist wanted to play. He leapt around, twisting and skidding to avoid the mist that was intent on chasing him. The ground was squidgy and it squelched when he landed on it, but he was having fun and a little mud wasn't going to ruin that. It splattered up his legs, changing his coat from white-and-blonde to greenish-brown. The brown spread up his legs and over his body, enveloping him, then abruptly dropped from him. He stood still, startled at the sudden disappearence of mud, amd that was when he saw her.

She was quite pretty, he thought, and her flower was one he hadn't seen before. If his mother had seen it she would have called it a rhododendron, but for some reason she couldn't, because Cupid was special and he was the only one who could see them. And hers was pretty. It was a nice shade of lavender. It matched her pretty eyes.

"I'm Cupid," he said. That was all he really needed to say. As he watched her, her flower crumbled away into dust. He cocked his head slightly. "You should really get that seen to, you know. Can't be healthy, it crumbling away like that." Without waiting for a reply, he trotted off, seeming to almost forget her as he turned away.
