Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

these people keep to themselves,

The thing with silence is that it hid so much - so much so that whenever her company went silent, her brow would slide up in an unspoken question. It would have been most peculiar to be able to probe the mind of another, to see what thoughts dashed about their mind. For starters, had she known Alana took comfort in the idea of an imprint... oh how she would have laughed. Imagine that, taking comfort in being so afraid to lose another that your very soul would ache. It was awful - d'Mani should have known but she kept her mouth tight on the matter. She'd already promised herself that she would never run off to the unlucky soul who had been connected to her in that way. Regardless of her soul trying to sway her to return to - Lucid, was it? - it didn't matter. Her soul belonged to the ocean. She was born with salt in her veins and to the salt she would always return.

They wandered onward, d'Mani glad to hear the quiet excitement in her companions voice. She remembered her mother would always speak of just how fast wolves would fall in love with Litherum - they would come, they would see, and they would swear their allegiance to Soldat just as fast. Her mother had been a Guardian there, something d'Mani could only ever aspire to be. She was no guardian, no good at persuading others to stay. She was a thief, hardly much more than that.

"The ocean is just over the hill - we have an island, too, you know. One of the others created a way to get to it."

Pan - she had to resist the urge to roll her eyes. He was so... well, obnoxious really. She couldn't understand why so many of the women of Glorall swooned over him but she imagined it was for lack of any other male material. Instead, she forced a brisk smile to her features before continuing to lead, nose falling to the earth every few moments to check for others. Honestly, she was surprised they had gone so long unnoticed. Heh, whoever took Glorall next would have a good time trying to re-train them to actually check their borders. Oh, Weylin, you had left them in shambles.

"But a few seasons," she replied finally, lifting her head up once more and twisting to face the girl as they made their way up the hillside; she would stop at the summit to elaborate, her mind quickly checking her facts. Heh, it had almost been a full year - crazy, right?

"I came with another, Apache and Sulan. Sulan was given Glorall by Weylin, the late king. Something about honor but, well, that didn't last long. Weylin took it back and got munched on by a damn whale."

She suppressed a laughter, not wanting to seem so... cold but honestly it was laughable. The Diamond King had been shattered and the Pirate King had been sunk. Who was going to be next? Rumors were already afoot but she would have to wait and see. They all would.

"What about you? Where'd you come from? I know I've made it sound so morose here, but really, feel free to stay if you like it here. There are some others around here - they're all relatively kind."

She shrugged - she guessed they were. She'd not really spent that much time getting to know them but, they left her alone and that meant they were respectful at least. With a tilted head, she again met Alana's gaze with a gentle smile, maybe even a little bit... hopeful. She liked her, maybe the same couldn't be said about d'Mani, but she liked the small mottled girl.
