Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

restless: i found your weakness

She was not so much cautious, more... suspicious of the intent of strangers. The last time she had encountered a stranger, after all, the male had rose to conquer her in the fight for Iromar. It had been a learning curb to say the least; strangers were not all like Paldor, though she thought perhaps she was thankful for that. It was difficult enough to be confused over one let alone dozens, and to worry over the life of just one. She had to admit, with such light shone on her daughter, she had become even more worried for the lives of those around her; she had taught Caligula to fight, to kill, and if she hunted her own siblings, who else would she hunt? Her mother's mate (though the word seemed to mean less and less)? Or perhaps her own mother? She would see, yes, in time.

In such a state, she had noticed the faint outline of another, the dark form that slid across the landscape as she had. At first she had coiled up in preparation to attack, her muscles bunching up and ears laying back - she had, oddly enough, expected the monster Tobias but instead she was greeted by an unfamiliar face. She observed with mild interest as he approached, absorbing all that was the stranger - his fur, his colour, the way he moved. Curiously she sniffed at the air, her ears remaining flat against her skull as her paws dragged her kill in closer to her, staining her chest faintly with the crimson of blood. He was foreign, his scent hardly reminiscent of any of the craters and lupine blood lingered in his musk; her tongue lashed out, rolling across her own bloodied muzzle as her eyes locked onto his.

He spoke then and she simply stared, mirroring his movement as her own head tilted on its axis; still, she remained rigged and uncertain. Baphomet had been a foreigner, too, and the smell of wolf blood hardly seemed like a desirable trait for an acquaintance. Still, she was curious, intrigued by the russet and golden stranger who had been gutsy enough to approach a she-wolf and her kill.

"You cannot intrude if you are not known; I have no reason to now want you here."

Finally a break in her features, a brow sliding up her face expectantly as he crept forward. Again her paws tightened around the hare, her blunt claws digging into the flesh as she broke eye contact to once more pull a strip of flesh from the creature. His name was abnormal and she mulled over it for a moment attempting to correlate it to any of the families she knew of within Moladion but none came to mind; he was fresh meat, brand new blood. Blood to be spilled or blood to be spread - ah, that was the undecided part of his life. Simply because one desired to thrive did not mean Fate would give them such a chance - she would know. She had been destined to thrive... or so she had thought.

"You are new here, to these lands. Why here?"

It took some moments before she had swallowed down the flesh, her attention reverting back to the male this time with a light scowl. Again, her head tilted this time on its opposite axis, and though she scowled it had not been innately a bad thing; curiosity. Still she gave no name, no formal introduction for she had decided such things were to be earned - she did, however, give him a beckoning movement, her muzzle pointing to the earth before her in a come hither motion. Sit, Tsukaihiro, and feast upon your life for she would take just about anything to keep her mind from roaming back to the dark that was decimating her own children.
