The Way of the Warrior

Yes, I am sure Kalgalath understands that he may need to come back when Serris returns. The fae’s first mention of her Alpha’s name slipped past Aindreas’ notice, for he was still under the impression that his continued loneliness and solitude was causing him to go a little mad in the head. His icy gaze watched as the fae shivered, and Aindreas felt his own pelt beginning to quiver due to the chilling night breeze. He wished dearly to travel back to his den which, with any luck, would still hold some of the heat which had accompanied his pleasant slumber. The fae glanced up at the stars, but returned her gaze to his attention when he spoke. Yes, that was me. I apologize if my being here has caused your pack with disfortune. I will be extra careful next time if I want to come back with more information. By the way, Kobato is gone now, headed for somewhere else. She was only in Aurora for a short time. Aindreas nodded and then coughed, clearing his throat so that he may speak again. His speech had gone without stutters thus far, and the brute was impressed with himself.
“It caused no such disfortune, Magic, merely interest about who had left a scent at the border but had then left. I apologize that there was no one to great you during your previous attempt… we have not been the most active of packs… As for Kobato, your information does not surprise me. She was never much of a ‘pack’ lupine. She merely was here to help…” He had turned to leave, but then the string of words had left her maw that had set him off. Throughout his entire rampaging monologue, the fae did not move or flinch, and responded in an even tone after a few moments of hushed silence. You are Aindreas. The white wolf that Kal raised to be loyal when he was in Munashii Gekko. I am going to tell you now, Aindreas, Kalgalath clearly raised you to find the depth in a wolf’s words. I do not know anything else that is my business to share with you. Aindreas stood just as stock still as Magic was, his hackles raised and a look of angry betrayal in his icy gaze. His icy gaze that was identical to Kal’s own arctics. How Aindreas hated his eyes, for they so reminded him of the bitter departure of Kalgalath. Aindreas had been but a teen, and so though he had held dearly onto Kalgalath’s lessons of loyalty, he had also held onto the idea that anyone that he allowed to get close to him would leave him. Like his mother. His father, who he never knew. His foster mother. Kalgalath. Kobato, the fae who had been so overwhelmingly joyful. And now even Serris, with his prolonged absences, and Genisys with her sudden disappearance.
But Aindreas was tired of being angry and bitter and alone, and Kalgalath was now searching for him. He had sent this fae to search Aindreas out. Was it guilt? Or could it be possible that the mottled grey titan actually cared for him? “So he sent you here… to search me out. To what end? What is it that he wants from me? To ease his own guilty mind? To beg my forgiveness? Did he give you an explanation for why he left me all those years ago?” His vocals had quieted down, almost to a whisper, a small trace of a whimper in his words.
