aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

The fae felt as if her limb’s were going to collapse beneath her. The large great titan before her kept her within his gaze, and she saw within him a fierce temper, one that she definitely did not want to be directed at her. Her amber gaze would not bear to look at the titan for more than a few seconds at a time, lest his gaze burn a hole through her. But then she was spared from his arctic orbs by the arrival of a dark fae, and her presence seemed to calm the brute some. Hellene tried to straighten up her stance, but found that her muscles were tired, burning from the lactic acid that was building up from her lack of breathing.

The fae was better at socializing than either of the two brutes had been. Her extreme exuberance matched the intensity of emotions that were even now flowing through Hellene’s veins. The grey and russet fae wondered momentarily why it was that she felt everything so strongly. But the thought lasted just a moment, for the blackened femme opened her maw and spoke quickly. I’m Leila, what’s your name? My… my name is…” Hellene found that her mind was blank, so frightened of the brute she was. But her mouth finally loosened itself. “Hellene. My name is Hellene.” The fae then turned her attention to the brute, making his acquaintance as well. But her orange gaze turned back to Hellene, and the fae found herself smiling but a bit, enjoying the fae’s presence. So, you’re here to join? Hellene nodded her cranium, comforted by the positive energy that Leila was providing. “That… that is my hope.” But then Kalgalath’s icy gaze fell upon Leila, but as the black fae stared back at the brute, Hellene saw much of the fight and the energy leave him.

Still, even with the energy drained from him, his icy gaze still froze her where she stood as he turned to face her once more, and when he spoke, there was no mistaking the threat that was thickly lain within his words. Hellene, I will grant you admission to this pack as a member. Know, and beware, that you have none of my trust. Your past is troubling, especially with you arriving at my border with another scent still upon your pelt. Be a good pack member and contribute, and you shall earn my trust in time. Betray us, and you shall have a real reason to quake when I approach. Though Hellene was gladdened that she had been accepted into the packlands, she felt the stress and the pressure that now was upon her – she somehow had to find a way to earn the Alpha’s trust when he already disliked her. The task seemed daunting, and Hellene found herself wondering if befriending Leila would be a good place to start.

Kalgalath turned to leave, speaking quiet words to Chiron and Leila. Soon after, Chiron turned toward her, his maw opening. Hellene I will take you around the pack lands if you would like. Hellene’s plume wagged slightly, glad that she could relax now that Kalgalath had finally left. Leila left her, Well I guess I’ll see you two soon then.. Hellene had time only to say goodbye before the fae left, so she turned her amber gaze upon the brute. “Lead on, Chiron. Show me my new… home.” The word felt weird upon her tongue, but it felt right within her heart.
