Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

My c o l d desire
to hear the boom, boom,
b o o m of your heart

How long had she been waiting for that voice? How long had she dreamed about the return of her Moon, her beloved sister? There had been nightmares, soothed only by the gentle murmurings of their brother's voice in her ear. She was only whole with the entirety of her siblings by her side. Tesseract was her other half, they were two souls cruelly separated into two bodies. But Celesdue. Celesdue had been their soft guiding light. A beacon of truth in the vastness of the night. At this point, Caligula would even be happy to see Phobia, the priest of the Moon. She tolerated him because he served her dearest sister faithfully. She tolerated him because he had never betrayed them. When Celesdue disappeared, leaving behind the lands of their mother, and her siblings, it was Phobia that followed her faithfully into the lands beyond Moladion.

Caligula blamed herself some days. But mostly, she did not understand why her sister felt the need to leave them. She did not understand. Did her sister not know the edict that their mother had so imposed upon them? We protect those that we love. It was the ever silent mantra that Caligula repeated to herself constantly. She ran the list through her head. Ruvindra. Tesseract. Celesdue. Phobia. That was her list. Those were the individuals she would gladly give her life for if only because that would mean they would survive. She did not have the capacity to see others as Tesseract did. He was always seeing virtues in those that Caligula could not.

And then it was if her wildest dreams were answered. The voice was familiar. She paused for a moment. She lifted her head from the small mouse she had found and had pinned under her foot. She pricked her ears and orientated her head towards the call. If she had a voice, it would of been lifted up in a joyous call, but she had never developed one and thus, she left her small prey to be savaged by some other hungry villain to join her sister. Her speed was slow at first, as if she did not believe her ears but the wind shifted and brought Celesdue's scent to her nose and she took off at full speed. Though she had never been built for speed, her legs stretched out to meet the ground and propel herself forward with such eagerness it was as if she had a young fawn in her sights.

Finally, she slides to a stop as the beautiful sight of her moonglow sister came into her mismatched eyes. She paused, taking in the sight of her sister before she picked her way towards her, only briefly glancing at the ground before her. Caligula did not hesitate but only buried her head in Celesdue's shoulder with enough force that if she had not seen her night sister, that she could easily be bowled over. Caligula's tail wagged furiously, and though she could emit no noise, there was no doubt in anyone's mind that she was happy.
