This cave I do not like. Caves are not my thing. I like snow and smoothg ice like my arctic homelands, where I had been born and raised. Where a flase step could send you falling through ice into frigid waters, and there is nothing else quite like it. I can't even begin to guess what I had gained by leaving. Well, I hadn't exactly blended in the best there. I had stood out like a sore thumb, or blood on white snow, if I'm to be honest. My flame red fur was exactly like blood splashed across the white snow of my homelands, and while I may have been interesting to look at I was hard pressed in surviving. The prey could see me coming for miles, and I'm not going to be able to launch any sneak attacks on opposing wolves either. So interesting to look at out there isn't quite enough, and while you may get lost in my gaze I'm not really so hypnotizing. That's all I had been, something pretty to look at. While I had been a main prospect for being chased around by pretty girl loving boys that was all I was good for, and even my children had a chance of being as useless as I had been.
I was nothing but a lovely girl to have puppies to help the pack thrive. Nothing but a mother and a nursemaid I would have been, something loved by every male in the pack. I wouldn't even have been respected enough for them to listen to anything I dared to speak, and that wasn't enough to make me stay. A future of constant motherhood was not enough to get me to stay in the lands of my birth. So I had chased all my suitors away with cutting words and snapping jaws, and when my parents had perished I had taken my leave. It was simply all they had needed to see to let me leave. Tawny golden hairs were mixed in wth the flame russet of the rest of my coat, making me look almost as if I were made of fire. I tentatively stretch my legs out, my tail curving to the side as they strectch out. My tongue lapped around my muzzle and my stomache rumbled faintly, I had rested much too long. I needed to go hunting soon, maybe even right at this moment. Hopefully I would be able to catch something here, and it didn't just go running off as soon as I spotted it. Hopefully soon I will have my meal. Something to fill my belly. Blood with which to warm my snout and jaws.
I gather my strength and bring my legs up under me and stand. There's no familiar ache or pain which means I have rested for long enough, that means if I need to run down the prey in chase formation that I'll be good to go. My teal eyes catch a stranger looking into my cave and blocking my way, however. My lips are drawn into a slight frown and my teal eyes are wary, the fur around my shoulders bristling slightly. "What are you doing here? Is this your home? I was just leaving." My tones are smooth with underlying cold. I want him to budge. Eithor that or let me pass so I can hunt. If he wants to come then fine, if not I can leave him behind.
