Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

She knows all about change. Alice is well aware that change is hard. She had to get over it right quick when the sky fell... damn that sky, why did it have to ruin everything? The clockwork angel had been the first female to hunt with the bachelors... the last female to hunt with the bachelors. She was confident and competent... but it made her sad when things changed. Well, as sad as she could get... it was always covered by a film of careful indifference, and that was enough to make everything okay. So long as she was careful with the magnitude of the things she felt everything would be fine. So long as everything came in small degrees... gradual change over time, little upgrades. It was almost like adaptation, but without nature.

Science like nature must be tamed, but Alice was a careful, tedious compillation of clockwork that never seemed to get it right. Alice had her regrets, had things she'd screwed up so badly it hurt her all the way through. She did hurt all the way through, and maybe that was the worst of it. It was the worst of it. Still, she found a way of being. The automaton moved on.

The pale young man speaks again, and she nods. "A dear friend of mine taught me about the gypsies..." her gold flecked eyes have a low sparkle to them, as they often do when she thinks of the medicine man. "He said it was our job to take in the lost souls and find them again." She'd found Kusaka today, and that was enough. That was good, and she could find herself with a very light smile to boot. "If you want, we can eat before we go. I'm pretty sure they already ate dinner." She nods... they'd been eating when she last saw them. It was a few hours ago, but it was a fading winter... some of them may have even already been asleep.
