Susil Crags

Disaster has struck!
The Crags are a series of rocky formations with small caves and crevices throughout. Many of the lower-lying areas of the Crags have been flooded, however, with water pouring in from the Northern stretches of Moladion. Some paths have been completely submerged, and some are nothing more than a few rocky peaks sticking out of the water. The water is fairly slow moving but begins to pick speed up towards the Grotto, becoming a series of intense rapids and waterfalls as it nears the Grotto's entrance.

The area itself is still traversible. However, it can be risky. Large amounts of debris can enter the waterway, creating bridges at times but also creating dams that break and cause ocassional flash-flooding. Be careful, travelers! One wrong step and you could end up finding out where the water goes.

Return to Lunar Children

for all your grief

The desire was in her. It was powerful. She wanted the rock to crumble under her feet and send her tumbling to the ground below. She wanted to take the step that would prevent birth and the torment his children would surely bring on her. She closed her eyes, squinting hard so that colors bloomed against the backdrop of her eyelids, and took a steadying breath. It would be quick. Effective. Hopefully, painless. A quick swish of chilly air and then…relief.

Only Malina’s voice could have drawn her out of her own head, away from the short, tempting flight at her feet. Just a moment longer and it could have been over. But now she had to face someone and admit that she was giving up. She’d been caught in the act. “I was just…I didn’t…” Her voice was scratchy from disuse, and she paused to clear her throat, to assemble her defense. “Just thinking things.

Sheepishly, she turned away from the rocky ledge to face her friend – only a friend would go through the effort of stopping her, she had decided – and was greeted by a familiar sight. Her abdomen was swollen as well. “He got you too?” She couldn’t make herself say the words. She couldn’t admit that he had broken her and driven her here. It seemed so weak. But the look on her face, the way her eyes darted away from Malina’s own, would say what she couldn’t.

Malina sat beside her, a comforting presence in her otherwise lonely world, and she let herself relax some. She wouldn’t make her watch the pathetic end she had been devising. It wouldn’t be right to drag her into it. Semantics. Instead, she sat stiffly, slowly lowering her sore muscles to the ground. She was quiet for a time, drawing herself back into the real world – it was strange to return from the dark place that she had become so comfortable in. It was weird to share her space with someone else after feeling so alone.

I don’t even know his name,” she finally muttered, shivering as much from the cold as from the facts of their situation. Malina seemed so strong, so self-aware. How could he have caught her off guard? “What happened?” She didn’t pad it with apologetic phrases, or offer Malina an out if she didn’t want to talk about it. Theirs was a comfortable companionship – each would say what she wanted, and the other would be content.
