The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

Pain rumbled through the girl’s abdomen causing her to writhe in pain. The pups were wanting to enter the world but had chosen the wrong place and the wrong time to do so. Quietly the ess reached to her stomach whispering sweet words to her unborn young. ”Shush, babies. You’ve just got to hold on a little long...” The word was cut off by a slight scream another contraction forcing its way down her body. Taking deep breaths in and out and trying to calm herself in order to make the labour last that little bit longer, the female eyed her surroundings. Being on the borders of the assassin pack and making so much noise would no doubt cause some interest and not the type she would be wanting. Closing her eyes for a brief moment and praying for her mate to come soon, a strange scent entered her nares and she immediately opened her eyes, hackles raising and teeth bared. Though she was in no fit state to fight she wasn’t about to roll over and let some opportunist hurt her or her pups.

What she got was unexpected. Stood before her was a wolf, his gaze running up and down her form. He just stood quietly staring at the girl before her spoke and instantly the girl calmed putting her fangs away and lowering her hackles. ’Are you alone, dear one?’ His tones were calm and gentle and did a little to reassure the female that he was not one to be feared. He was nothing like Channing had expected and Abendrot warrior to be but he could still not be trusted. Breathing through another contraction the fae nodded her head, her face contorting in agony. Slowly the lad stepped forward and Channing watched him intently, if he got too close he would be warned but instead he stopped, smiling as truthfully as he could and letting more lyrics flow from his jaws. ’Follow me, I know a den a couple of minutes walk away and I can promise you safety there.’

Only wanting the best for her offspring the lass tried to stand, her shaky and weary limbs almost buckling underneath her. She stayed still for a moment letting her legs steady themselves when yet another scent hit her nose- another Abendrot scent. She gazed around another bolt of terror flashing through her eyes when a huge white male appeared at the scene. Channing stayed quiet her legs swaying back and fro as if any minute they would collapse listening to the sarcastic lyrics of the new wolf. When he turned his words towards her the lass keep her gaze away from his eyes knowing full well who the wolf was. He was Kershov- the Alpha of Abendrot. Too tired to put up a fight and not wanting to further endanger her life the timber ess nodded, shaky words emptying from her jaws. ”I understand.” Ker’s tone of voice was more polite and gentle than she had imagined and due to the fact both males were being relatively understanding, the femme decided that she would do exactly as they said.

Once again the Alpha and his commander took up a conversation causing the girl to cry silently to herself. Pain kicked at her insides warning her that the pups would be birthed within a matter of hours maybe even minutes and yet she was still stood at the borders, trying to keep herself standing upright. The Alpha mentioned that he would be heading to Saw Tooth and Channing removed her gaze off the floor. If Henadin and Terrel found out about this a war would break out. She could only hope that Moth was around to stop them doing anything stupid. With Ker’s last sentence out of the way, the heavily pregnant ess gazed towards Marx hoping that he would soon lead her to a den. As she flicked her eyes from both Marx and Kershov her eyes held a look of gratitude, thanking them for what they were doing even though she knew full well there would be a price to pay for their ‘hospitality’.

Channing ~ Adult Female ~ SawTooth ~ Tied to Henadin ~ Mother of Terrel & expecting.
