Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

I WILL NOT DIE, I'LL WAIT HERE FOR YOU

Cobryn has no idea what to really think of the alpha pair and the situation surrounding them. Not his business. If they didn't bother him, he wasn't going to be bothered by them and what they chose to do in private. They seemed okay enough at the meeting, and not over the top with pda. That gave them points as far as he was concerned. And if they kept Glorall peacefull, then Cobryn had no reason not to stay. Plus, he was hoping to raise a family, and a pack was best for that. Enigma had decided on Glorall, and Cobryn accepted her choice in the matter. So as long as she felt it was good enough to raise the coming pups in, then so did Cobryn. He had always trusted Enigma's instincts. Always. And it had never done him wrong, either.

He had known Enigma back when Apollymi was alive and ruled Judila, and they had become friends. They were pretty close when he had been with Lurid, and Cobryn had been able to tell Enigma everything without judgement. And even then he had felt something for the masked female. Cobryn had kept it mostly to himself, giving the hint and then nothing more. Then there was Jaidah, and Cobryn knew deep down that had been ill fated. It did not stop him then; he wanted to be pulled back from the edge of nowhere. Now Jaidah was dead and gone and he feels both pain and the want to lash out because of it. But he represses that urge for Enigma's sake. He doesn't know what path that would lead him on, or if he would survive such a thing at all.

Those things had nothing to do with the trail he was following now. No, the thing he had hoped would never happen, had. He'd imprinted, and there was no turning back from it now. He was caged by it, and he could already feel the way the emotions altered. He could not wish her away now, even as his heart struggled against this bond fate had finally bound him by. For so long he had avoided it, and now... it had come for him when he had finally found hope again. When he was totally sure he wanted to settle down. To try one last time for the family he had always wished for, and never aquired for this reason or that. It had never worked out for him, not any of the times he had fathered a litter. Four. And there was only one he knew of that was still alive and cared at all.

He keeps moving, feeling the imprint bond strengthen each step he made to get closer to the female. Something about her seemed like a distant memory, but it was also distorted. It couldn't be anyone he had known before. Perhaps a passing glance? He does not know, and he has to wonder if that was even possible. To have seen the female and not imprint that very moment. Not unless he was too much against it and it was blocked? Cobryn did not want to think about it anymore. It made his head hurt, and part of him felt at a loss to have this happen. But another part was overjoyed. It did not make any sense to him, and so he figured it was part of the imprint. It forced things about the males affected by it. He knows that much, at least.

And he knows also that her scent draws him like a moth to a flame; even if he was to get burned by it. He still goes, still wants her, craves her. It's like a poison spreading all through his veins and corrupting him to something away from the norm. Like rabies, and how it changed a creature. Made them feral. Cobryn was feeling the stirrings of that, there could be no mistake. After having been so peaceful and calm -- and he still wanted peace! -- he also felt the rising up of something wild within him. The Winter made everything worse, the emotions stronger, as well as the lust. Just when he had wanted to never look at another female except Enigma like that again, this imprint happened and changed it all. He looked, and he wanted. He couldn't help it.

Finally, finally he spots the shape that draws him in, and he does not stop. He knows she can see him quickly enough, but it does not halt his movement. Instead, he speeds up until his paws bring him right along her side; a shiver running through him at the touch his body commanded to take. His jaw lifts to her nearest ear. "I'm here." It's barely a whisper, and Cobryn doesn't even know what possesses him to say it, except that it felt like he should. Nothing would ever be the same for him, and it was useless to keep fighting it. He still ended up here next to her, even if a part of him did not want to move a step in her direction. He just.. felt complete with his side to hers, and he doesn't even know her name.
