At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

"Why would I think to do such a thing? I don't define wolves by their outward appearances."

Dai smiled slightly at the black smudge of a fae, unable to find the words for a moment. Other wolves like this had appeared vaguely, but they always turned on her once they knew there was nothing to be done. And they only came to her to bring themselves higher in either their own, or the eyes of the public.

But the blind girl could sense something different with Blaze, a faint aura of genuine concern that made her feel... Safe.

It was a new feeling for her, having lived such a troubled exsistence. Safety was not something easily felt when your life is made up of running and hiding from a world she couldn't even see. Safety was not easily found in a pain fringed life such as her. Safety certainly wasn't found where you were the target of abuse from almost everyone you ever met.

Small tears pooled in the corners of her eyes as she felt her way forward for a step or two. "Of course not... But be wary of the rest of the wolves here. They care nothing for understanding."

That was when her pain boiled over momentarily, and her lags gave out beneath her. She couldn't have known but she'd never stopped moving for days, always keeping herself busy by running somewhere else. Dai hadn't eaten for days now either, and that wasn't helping her strength either. It hurt less as soon as she was on the ground, except for something round and rough pushing up into one the scars on her side. She heard her name, but it was distant, as if directed at someone else, and the black blur of wolf that showed Blaze came closer to her.

"Don't worry, I'll be fine.ive been on my feet a long time, they deserve the rest."
