At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

If you are not yourself, then who are you?

The light poured through the trees, a beautiful constellation only seen during the later morning of the day. Warmth and light filtered through the trees, birds calling out their songs of longing. To think that somewhere in the world there was war was unthinkable. A squirrel gathered seeds from the ground before retreating back into a nearby tree, creating no sound as it went. Around here, the trees were denser and healthier, a peaceful environment to the passersby. A small land in a big world. Creamy paws left small footprints in the ground, soon to vanish from the strength of a wind. A green gaze halted in a gateway from one of the bushes and shrubs, only lingering before the lupine traveled further. She flickered an aud before silently making her way from the bushes.

The ess jumped onto a large tree root that had grown above the ground. As wide as an adult male wolf, it provided a nice place to sit and relax while enjoying sounds of nature. The vixen was silent as she sat, her breath inaudible to all that were around her. She jumped gracefully back onto the ground, trying to cover a lot of ground before she found a den to sleep in for the night. This was one of the forest she most often found herself in, feeling herself welcomed through the silent wood. She knew there was a falls somewhere around here, but having been coming and going, she wasn’t precise on where it lay. Her creamy pelt was just there in the background, silent and a light shadow among the forest. The sound of water entered the area, and the fae headed towards the falls. She slipped through some bushes, pausing to remove a thorn when it snagged her pelt. Her fur was thick enough where it wouldn’t leave that big of a hole in her side. Her banner touched the ground when the trees thinned out and the waterfall was before her emerald gaze. She lapped up the water soundlessly, but stopped suddenly when a scent entered her nares.

A female had been here not too long ago, or she was still here and hiding among the earth. The fae finished her drink before she looked up to try and find this wolf, not minding to meet someone new and start a conversation. Raising her head and flickering her auds, she heard the snap of bark right across the river. She waited one more second, still hearing the animal gnawing on the stick. She leaped across the water and ruffled through a bush. She found a tattered white wolf sitting among the shadow of a tree. Her left flank was nearest to the ess, making the creamy fae at an angle from the other lupine. She moved diagonally so she was in her sight before sitting herself down a good few lengths away from her. “Hello.” The vixen wasn’t much of a greeting type wolf, and often found it hard to find something to say that was appropriate for a hello. No one was perfect, so she just decided to end her words right there.
