The Cavern of Secrets holds much more than you can imagine. Once a forbidden place, the ban on entrance has been released...yet, is it a good idea to enter?

Once a great battle had been fought in this cavern, against a dark beast that had once - and still might - dwell here. No one knows where he disappeared to, but there are rumours...

The brute stepped onto the step leading to the hole in the top of the wall. Athene was near to him, and after he spoke, he could see her paw stuck within a crevice. He wouldn’t leave Athene, knowing he would stand there if he couldn’t get her paw out and die with her. He wouldn’t let her die alone. There was one problem, though; Athene was going to get out of these caverns alive. Zev started to pull on her leg, trying hard to let it break free. The skin on her paw was starting to scrape away, and he knew he needed to do something fast. He pushed her paw into the crevice before pulling up and out. The fae’s paw was freed. “Now, jump on my back so you can reach the hole. I can jump from here, but you must hurry. If you don’t move yourself, I will throw you up there. The choice is yours.” He watched Athene jump onto him, her weight pushing down on his back before she jumped onto the edge of the hole. She scrambled up to the top, and the titan could hear her claws scraping on the edge of the wall as she struggled to move to safety. Once he couldn’t see her anymore, he himself jumped to the ledge, his back legs catching on the edge.He pulled himself up and took a breath before looking back to the water as he stood in front of the she.

The water started to pull downward, escaping into the other crevices and leading into the caverns and the ground underneath. He sighed, his banner slacking as he knew that the two of them were safe. He turned to Athene, but was stopped when she started to limp toward him and graze his lower jaw with her head. He was bewildered, but the emotion soon escaped him as she grumbled out a growl of thanks. He nuzzled her back, willing to share the gesture with her. Did he feel a bit perplexed and notice a bit of affection in the air? Before he could continue his thoughts, the ess moved away from him, and the pain in his leg became real. He tasted blood on the air, knowing that it was his along with the fae’s. He limped forward a couple of steps, the absence of light currently hurting his eyes; the brute needed to see daylight. “I need to see. Would you like to come to Staircase Falls with me? Our wounds need attending to.” He understood if she needed to go someplace alone. When there were times that demanded friendship and trust, the aftermath could need some conscience and nothing but. He walked next to Athene, journeying to the mouths of the caverns.

He was thankful that all of the tunnels from here to the surface were big enough for him to fit through without crawling, even if some of them were a bit tight. His pelt brushed Athene’s a couple times, and they walked through the darkness. The rock underfoot was still wet, and the titan knew he would not want to come back here for awhile, even if he didn’t find the original staircase he sought out for in the beginning. Light started to filter through the caves, and the entrance to the cavern came into sight. Zev sighed as he felt the sun start to soak up the water on his pelt, and as he stepped into the grass, he felt the water in the dirt. He sat himself to the ground, and turned to Athene to wait for her answer on the invitation to Staircase Falls.
