On cue, silhouettes took their rightful shapes and scents billowed into the lass' narettes. A form moved and the little lady could hear him breathing. She could hear herself breathing. She was going to be okay, wasn't she? She put forth the effort that it would take to turn her nape and gaze over at him, but he had already beat her to that kind of motion. Thunder echoed on overhead, but it was not the rain that Kobato had her divided attention on. It was going to be hard to stay awake, though... she wanted to let herself relax and rest a little bit more. Just a little bit... but then again, why would she want to delve back into the darkness when she could be greeted by something so much more... bright? The marred palette of the winter soldier moved in an expression that Ko had only seen perhaps once before... if even that. Was he afraid that she was going to break if he stepped on a crack? She might... She stared straight ahead, watching as his plummage moved around in strange motions. She wheezed, a kind of sigh and chuckle that wouldn't come out due to dehydration and sorts. But it was still a sound of life, and for right now, she was relishing in the way the sun filtered through the darkening skies. How it touched the tips of Vladya's pelt and lit up a special part in his sclera, pulling attention to the colors of his portals. The dirt also smelled good... it stunk of promise. Some kind of unspoken one that only the earth can give to a soul. Kobato was sure that, if she moved her paw to gently touch the surface of it a little ways away from where she lay on her side, she would be able to feel a faint heartbeat.
Words piled into her drums and she frail-ly stretched out, skinny legs moving inch by inch. Hey, kid. Rise and shine. Had she been sleeping for long? He looked exhausted... Had he been eating? Drinking? Sleeping at all? Funny, how she was more worried about him than she was for herself at this point in time. Perhaps she had been away for a long time-- she closed her portals and inhaled deeply. When she exhaled, she let a small, dry smile paint her lips. She wanted to smile for him, as he had smiled for her. Had the motion felt strange upon his own kissers? Hers felt like it didn't belong to Kobato anymore. It was something foreign, and she struggled with the tension that rose with it, gluing her skin to her defined cheek bones. She was happy to see him, she truly was, but that smile had to drop sometime. It was too painful for her to keep up for more than a few seconds. It would be even more difficult to put it back on again. The valkyrie did not shift when a cold gale uplifted her soft and short summer cloak. She shivered against it, but opened her eyes, showing delight in the feeling. Breathing. At first, she did not want to keep the motion up. She had not wanted to fill her lungs with the substance they so desired. But now, looking at the demon who had pushed will back into her heart, she gladly took in the oxygen.
She wanted to reply back to him, and as he neared she scurried to find the words that she wanted to say. Something rude? Never. Something kind, something cute, something appreciative. Putting all those three together was not an easy task. She blinked twice, her skull throbbing with a head rush though she had not sat up at all. Ah! Sitting up! She wanted to show her appreciation. Perhaps she could show just how thankful she was by closing the rest of the small distance. What an idea it was... but it was easier thought about than performed. First were her front legs. She forced them to move, to push her into a sort of position that could be considered as a submission if a regal did not ask to see your stomach. Then, she exhaled and swayed dangerously as she attempted to move into a sitting position with only her hind and her pads touching the ground. But such was not to be done. She caught herself once... twice and then she nearly toppled over as she sat up, seating herself correctly and catching her balance before all her hard work was put back down to the dirt. By that time, the soldier was probably already next to her or in front of her. She looked up from her shaking paws and fought to put that smile that she wanted so dearly to show him. It touched and fit her like a glove. After all, a smile was always the best thing about Kobato. She leaned towards him as much as she could without falling forward, wanting to touch and feel warmth. Warmth that she thought she would never experience again in this lifetime. Words bubbled to her mouth, but she, even in her demented state, held them back. Now was not the time to say those words—then again, now could be the only time ever that she would ever be able to… but no. Instead, she went along with the first thought that popped into her head.
Where..?
