She was slightly startled by the understanding that suddenly appeared in his orbs, but she hid it well underneath her mask, continuing to stare blankly at him. Ah, some days she was just so glad her different persona's existed. They had saved her from many an awkward situation, and wolves soon learned how much shit they were in purely on the level of blankness they were receiving. "My reason for being here is that my--our pack can be a little demanding, and everyone loves a little vacation. Besides, this was my home before I joined Abendrot." She let that sink in a little, considering what he had said. Demanding? Interest choice of words, she had noted coolly. But in a way, he was correct. Being a soldier, assassin, spy, whatever one was did tend to be rather demanding. Aerten came to the conclusion that some handled it better than others. "Perhaps," she ventured with feigned softness. "I don't tend to notice these things you see." Another true point. She could run her body and mind into the ground, and as long as she enjoyed what she was doing, the femme wouldn't complain even silently. Self-discipline was one of the many things that she had drilled continuously into her head from a young age, to the point where she flinched at the thought of anything other. "So, do you have a name?" Now her lyrics had turned amused. She knew his scent, his reason for being here, yet not his title. And she was so very, very curious to know. It might be needed for later times, it might not. But it was still good to scavenge all the knowledge you could. |
