When the boy finally turned away, relief seeped through Alcide's entire being. Pride, too, welled within him, but it was not born of a haughty nature. Rather, he was proud that he had stepped up and defended their home when his loving mate was incapable. Deep down, however, Alcide knew that his adversary had not simply given up. No, it would seem to him that Tesseract harbored a deep passion to rule. It had been evident in every strike he had delivered in the battle. For a young wolf he had fought well, and Alcide would forever bear reminders of that. Turning back towards the mountain, he picked up a slow jog and crossed the borders back into the lands he had justly defended. His gait was hindered slightly by the injury to his left hind leg. Puncture wounds from a well placed bite caused a dull, aching pain with every step, and so Alcide limped to attempt to alleviate the pressure. The wound had already scabbed over, but there was swelling in the region. He travelled at a steady pace - neither quick nor laboriously slow - setting a course that would take the most even path back to his and Moonglow's den. Hopefully she would be close at hand; he could certainly use her healing paw and tender embrace. Flicking his right ear, pain shot down his face. The top most portion of the audit had been neatly shredded into three sections. Although it seemed beyond repair, Alcide secretly hoped Moonglow might be able to repair the damage to some degree. The tears had clotted, but the flicking motion caused fresh blood to slowly ooze from the wound and seep into the canal of his ear. A most bothersome sensation. His facial wounds, too, had ceased to freely flow lifeblood, and Alcide knew well that those injuries would scar most obviously. Would the pack look upon his half disfigured face in disgust, or understand that the wounds had been accepted in stride for them? He knew that they would be grateful to still rest easily within Spirane's borders. But the thought that his son, Swallowbane, would go on hating him with his whole heart stung more so than the battle wounds ever could. There was nothing he could do to change that. Finally his hitched jog slowed to a walk, gingerly attempting to keep his weight off his injury. He approached the den but did not enter. Instead he lowered his bulk to the ground just outside of the mouth, lying on his right side and resting his left leg atop the other. He kept his marred face raised and he awaited Moonglow's inevitable arrival. She would come, he knew she would.  |

Astarael - The Weeper: The commander and lead warrior of the pack. Charged with teaching the Berserkers the art of battle. Clayr - The Seer: Charged with the pack's health, and in teaching the Shiners and those who wish to pursue the art of healing. Kibeth - The Walker: The leader of the Guard. They are the foremost line of defense, charged with securing the borders and bringing pertinent information from within and without the pack to the appropriate wolf. They also lead the Outriders. Ranna - The Sleeper: Assists the queen in guarding from theft as well as advising her of news and gossip from the whole of Moladion. Charged with teaching the Mages about theft, secret keeping, and overall sneakiness. Allowed to make and block steals. Mosrael - The Waker: Caretaker and storyteller of the pack, also the head pupsitter. Often times this wolf will look after the pack's youth and educate them of Spirane and Moladion's history. Leads the Remembrancers in pup watching. Charter - The Power: The master hunter of the pack. Leads and organizes all hunts and teaches the Falconers the art of the hunt. The Classes Berserkers: Warriors and hunters of the pack. Falconers: The pack hunters Mages: Thieves and secret keepers of the pack. Allowed to make and block steals. Ambassadors: Diplomats of the pack. Shiners: Healers of the pack. Outriders: The pack scouts who bring all news of happenings across Moladion back. Remembrancers: Wolves of a kind nature who look after the younger wolves of the pack. These wolves may wish to learn more about healing, but this is not a requirement. Bairns: The young pups of the pack Amateurs: Youth of the pack still finding their place Kinfolk: The general populance of the pack Elders: Respected retirees who still offer wisdom and insight |
