I'll make you a star in my universeHer name was Mouse and rightfully so. While she dreamed of having a gorgeous ivory or ebony pelt, her fur was, instead, full of mousy grey and brown tones and she was noticeably smaller than almost every wolf her age, or older, that she had ever met. She dreamed of growing taller but Fate had other plans in mind. Poor Mouse was used to being picked on for her small size. She was the runt of her litter and her parents had teasingly nicknamed her Mouse. Unfortunately for her, the name stuck..
The tiny female slowly rambled along Blossom Forest, barely aware of her surroundings. She was lost in her head, reliving memories. There were memories of wrestling with her siblings, of the time her brother bit her so hard he drew blood. There was still a scar on her muzzle from that day. There were memories of moonlit walks around her old pack lands. There were memories galore running through her mind. Mainly, though, there memories of her grandmother and the things she had taught her. Oh, how she had adored her grandmother.
The far away glint in her eyes slowly faded away as she came back to the present. It was quickly replaced with nervousness as she had no idea where she was. She hadn't been to this part of Blossom Forest before. She came to a halt and looked around her. There was a cave several yards to the left of her. I wonder what's in there, she thought to herself. What if there's a bear? She shivered. Bears were such dreadful creatures! And cruel too! She lifted her muzzle and sniffed the air to see what she could find out about the area. Nope. No bear. A wave of relief washed over her and she chuckled sheepishly. She was always scared of something. For once in her life, Mouse was going to do something brave; she was going to explore this mysterious cave!
She padded confidently to and in the cave. She did fine until the light from outside started to grow dimmer and the sounds from the outside world grew fainter.. Her heart started to beat faster as her usual fear started to kick back in. The cave was damp and dark and the floor of the dungeon had stagnant pools of water. This place smelled of dirty water and mold. This was a place where creatures came to hide... Or die.
What did I get myself into? she whispered aloud.
