Misty Mountain is opposite of Rainbow Cliff. Mists hover year-round at this high altitude, mistaken by some to be thin clouds. Thin layers of snow cover the mountain, making some areas slippery and hazardous.

Some think it romantic, a place to bring their mates, while others come to play and romp. However, all must agree that there is some level of mystery and spookiness hovering about with the mists...

He didn't hesitate, immediately pushing through the overgrown foliage and stepping into the clearing. The body in front of him was a crimson painted mess, but he still recognized it at once. Akina's oldest son, Pilatus, was dead in a bloody heap, and in that moment for the first time in his life, Titan felt utterly helpless. Even being captured by humans for that short time hadn't felt like this. Pilatus wasn't his, technically he hadn't even been Akina's by birth, but Titan had cared for him just as much. He couldn't fight, and was a gentle soul... so different from Titan.

If the attack was at Aurora, why is he out here?

“He wasn't in the pack at the time. My guess is he was here when the scouts found him. I came across him not long ago myself... don't let this happen to Hachiko.”

Titan snarled at her, And what happens to my boy if I don't go for him? You think they'll just keep him alive forever? Risk their prisoner getting out, getting help? That's not how these kinds of wolves work.

“Well, they promised to kill him if you come for him. At least there's a possibility of him living if you don't... I'm just trying to help my friend. I couldn't help her when they attacked, but I can help her son not be killed.”

Titan looked away from her and back at Pilatus' limp body. His chest felt heavy as he looked at him... he remembered taking the boy hunting, trying to teach him to take down prey for the first time. The she-wolf, Zira, turned away from him and began to exit the clearing. She paused before leaving.

“Just... think about it.”

Present times

Blood Titan hadn't noticed that he had fallen asleep until he woke. He was laying on the edge of a cliff. Although it was summer in Blossom Forest, it wasn't unusual for snow to fall up so high in the mountains. He woke up covered in a thin layer of it, and instead of shaking it off he couldn't be bothered. He blinked a few times, but didn't change his gaze. Although he couldn't see the actual pack land, he was staring in the direction of Aurora Borealis. In the time since learning about the attack that had taken his family from him, not much had entered his thoughts beyond the idea of revenge. Supposedly the wolves who attacked did it to gain control of a Demonica territory, so he assumed they had stayed. According to the wolf who had told him about it, his only living child was being held prisoner there, and that was the only thing holding Blood Titan away. If there was any way to get Hachiko away from there still alive, then nothing would stop Titan from going on a killing spree through the place. Even if he died because of it, it would be the most satisfying death he could hope for now.

Akina's death ate at him every day. Their kids' deaths were just as bad for him. If he had any last worries that he would end up like his father, this proved he wouldn't. Black Skull caused the death of many of his own family, killed a few himself even. Titan had idolized his father when he was a pup. He had even killed his sister just to please him. And even then Black Skull only commented on how Titan should've done it better. After growing up, falling in love, having a family... Titan got to a point where he was pissed off at his father. Even though Black Skull was long dead, at the paws of Crimson Blood no doubt, Titan was so angry about how he'd been cheated. He blamed his father for the messes he made. He was afraid of ending up like him. But now? Now he didn't care. He didn't hate Black Skull anymore. He didn't worry about becoming him. He didn't blame him for anything. He just didn't care, which was as much as Black Skull had ever given him. If he had ended up like Black Skull, then the loss of his family wouldn't have mattered to him.

But it did.
And it was destroying him.

He never could have imagined his life revolving around another wolf. Sometimes he would think back to when he had first met Akina, just to think about the irony of it all. She was always around Hex, and Titan had hated both of them when he was a pup. He thought they were stuck up, and weak, and … and he was so wrong. Akina was the sweetest wolf he'd ever met, she accepted him for what he was and wasn't disapproving like everyone else had been. She was the strongest wolf he'd ever met, too. There was more to the word strength than just the physical stuff... it just took him until getting to know Akina to realize it. He could feel tears welling up and instead of trying to blink them away, he let them roll down his face.

I'm sorry Akina... you deserved so much more.

Was it odd to talk to no one? Maybe, but her memory was all he had to talk to now. At least until he figured out what he would do.

I don't know what to do, 'kina. I've heard of that clan before.. they operate similar to Demonica. They'll make good on their threat if I try to go get him. I can't leave him there though, because they won't just keep him a live prisoner forever... I don't know.

Titan knew that if he was ok with leaving Hachiko at Aurora, then he wouldn't still be arguing with himself over it. He knew what he would end up doing.

I'll get him. I know I will. I just don't know how... yet.
