Oh no, no, no - what is she doing? No, I don't think that is such a good idea to leave, no, not at all. Oh no, I really cannot let her leave all by herself! She is rude, yes, insufferable perhaps but she is pack, she is important - Damn right I am! - to somebody at least. Yes, I have been watching her more and more, always watching - creep - shut up, I know but she is fascinating. Never could I have imagined she would just... walk out of the pack though. Have I waited too long? I can barely see her. If she gets out of sight, she may go missing forever. I... I have to go out there, I have to stop her - no, you have to stay! - no, no, I must protect my siblings but I must protect the others too. It's really hard to get my feet to move but eventually they do - I leave the safety of my marshes and I follow her.
I expect some kind of... force field when I try to leave, some kind of force that will push me back. I also expect my mother or father to grab me suddenly and drag me back to the den but I am met with no objection - excuse you? I object - well, that's too bad mother. All I am met with is the strangeness of the whole situation before I simply get over it and follow her dark silhouette - she is fast, I will give her that, but I am sure it will be too easy for me to keep up. It is simply a matter of me staying hidden and quiet. I don't like to be found out so easily, especially when I am quite nervous as to what terrible beasts will live out here. And how dangerous it could be for your fur! That does not concern me so much, especially when the landscape is getting less and less... muddy.
Finally though she slows, which gives me plenty of time to look around and notice just how different it all is. The sun, for starters, is all too obvious and I feel astonishingly naked beneath it. They can all see me... they'll see me and I don't know if I want that. I cower away for some time, watching her bounce up on the rocks though I am resigned to the shadows, my lanky form pacing up and down the shades. She's a fool, really - no, no, she's just different to me, to us. My father told us stories of this outside world but it does not seem so... frightening, not yet. But the silly girl has to go calling, doesn't she? I wince at it - told you so - before I rush forward in a sudden burst of speed, intending to leap up beside her and tackle her. I'll do anything at this point to make her quiet, even if it means both of us falling from that very rock. I just... I don't want others to find us.
"There's plenty of others out there."
I growl at her, my words raspy and quiet as I simply glare, my dead eyes wide with what could easily be terror.
"But you don't want to know them."
If she insists on yelling again or making too much noise, I will very well tackle her again - ew, you're getting filthy - and, uh, isn't that a little childish?. Shut up, shut up! I don't care! I just want to keep this one safe, myself safe and get us back to Iromar before somebody does notice us.
