At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

One Step Closer to the Edge and I’m About to Break

The warm sun was beating down on the young brute’s russet pelt; heating his bodice as he sat talking to the femme he had met. He longed to jump into the cool water of the lake to cool his skin, but he felt that would be rude to do so in the middle of a conversation. Maybe he would suggest a swim to the fae and they could cool off together. Mezic had no trouble speaking with Dib; he felt like he could entirely be himself around her. He did not feel judged or that he was annoying her like it normally was so often with older wolves. He spoke openly with her, not thinking before he spoke. After he asked her personal questions he realized that he may have pushed his luck too far and offended her. He was pleasantly surprised though when she chuckled as she responded to him, ”Well I could ask you the same thing. You weren’t such a happy bunny yourself. To answer your question, yes I am fine. I was just thinking about family that is all. It’s good to have memories though, even if they do sometimes bring you unwanted emotions.” He nodded in understanding at her words. He met her gaze, her eyes sparkling prettily in the sun. He knew what she meant by unwanted emotions. He may have brought it upon himself, but his past was not the best having to raise himself after a foolish mistake.

He had yet to tell anyone in Blossom of his past. He had told others that he had left his family when he was a pup, but he had never explained why or the feelings that came with it. As he grew older he realized that his parents and other pack mates could have tried looking for him when he ran off. He knew that if anyone had tried looking for him they easily would have found him. A pup that runs off wouldn’t be that hard to find. He was only a few weeks old and he knew there was no way that he could have gotten so far or hidden himself from all the wolves in his pack. It was clear that they did not care about him in his old pack. Mezic didn’t want to think about his past though while he was around Dib. She was so happy and he loved that after all the serious and solemn wolves he had been around.

Mezic watched as Dib’s russet body stretched out to lie down on the warm rocks near the lake. She let out a yawn before speaking again to Mezic, her green eyes meeting his amber ones. ”So tell me about yourself Mezic. Have you been in Blossom long? I don’t mean to pry it’s just... Well...I have never met anyone like you before. It’s... Refreshing.” The femme wagged her tail as she spoke to him, and Mezic copied her easily, wagging his plume in response. He agreed whole heartedly with her. She was so nice and outgoing compared to everyone he was used to being around. He sat down beside her, wrapping his plume around his paws as he responded to her, “Well Dib, I left my family when I was a pup, only a few weeks old. I…didn’t get along with my family, and things weren’t…good at home.” He stuttered a bit through the last sentence, speaking a loud a bit of his past for the first time, but he wasn’t ready to go into greater detail than that, he couldn’t handle that emotionally right now. “But then I found Blossom. I’ve only been here for a few weeks, still trying to find the right pack for me. I’ve decided to leave Andere Seite, going to try for a different pack that could suite me better. You’re the first person I’ve found that I could consider a friend.” He smiled with his last few words, genuinely happy that he had found Dib.

Mezic was getting restless, he wasn’t very good at sitting still for so long. He stood up, shifting his weight from one paw to the next. “Wanna go for a quick swim? I don’t know about you but it’s hot out here.” He wagged his tail, a goofy smile on his face. He was still a pup at heart, always ready to play, and right now he would love to swim. He pushed off with his back legs, slipping slightly with the rocks underfoot. He leapt much more gracefully when he got to the water’s edge, landing in the water with a splash. He popped his head up, a large grin on his face as he yipped playfully to Dib, hoping she would follow him into the cool refreshing water.
