PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

ALICE
SING, IF YOU REALLY THINK IT’S WORTH SAVING ME

The bay mare wanders around the Peak that she was slowly beginning to call her home. She liked it, but she really did not know anyone within the area. Alice liked to have company, but there was just no company around to find. Alice lifts her pretty face to the sky, sniffing the air, trying to catch any scent of another mare in the area. She had been alone for far too long.

Alice does not like to be alone.

She troops around the area. When Alice had pictured her life as a small child she did not picture it to be like this. She, as the hopeless romantic she had been when she was young, had expected to be in love, with perhaps a child and maybe one on the way. Alice had wanted a big family. She dreamed about having the perfect family, wished on shooting stars whenever one jetted across the skies. Funny how visions of yourself change as you age. Now, although she has not seen many residents here, she could see herself living in the Peaks, and perhaps befriending the mares here, maybe they could be her sisters, and she theirs. Alice no longer envisioned herself with a child. Children made her nervous, uneasy. Besides that, Alice did not trust herself with the large task of raising an offspring, especially without the help of a stallion. She would seriously have one messed up child.

Once more she lifts her head and as the wind blows she catches the scent of other mares up ahead. Alice picks up a slight trot until she spots them. Slowly down her pace to a walk, the mare lowers her head only slightly, just so the others no she is no dominant being. No, Alice was far from being a dominating being indeed. “Hello, I’m Alice,” she says and smiles. She opens her mouth as if to speak again, but then closes it, realizing she really did not have anything interesting to say. So instead she leaves the air empty, having given her name the invitation was open for the others to offer their own names. So Alice turns her closed mouth into another smile, wanting to seem as friendly as possible. I mean, she was a friendly equine after all. Alice did not want anyone to think otherwise.
