Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

It had been quite a long time since Rio had been anywhere in particular, or spoken to another wolf. Years, in fact. Since leaving his last home, he had had no wish to find himself anywhere else. No mans land is what he found himself sticking to, plagued with the memories of his past life. Or rather, past lives. The first one, in his homeland where he himself had been prince and destined to take lead over the land after his Father. But he had left early, to his own devices, only to seek family elsewhere. There had been no hard feelings, no tragedy to cause such a journey. It had simply happened. Which was how the red-head had found himself making his second home within Bright Moon, under first one ruler who stole his heart before she vanished with it, and another who was his brother. He found himself missing the grey Alpha at times, and especially his other brother, the dear golden boy of his heart. But he had left, and though he returned once- never again did he step foot in that home of his. He couldn't go back, nor would he. It was too shameful and painful.

But then he had happened upon Moladion, and he had begun to rebuild for himself. And just like that, he had taken a quick and unexpected leave. That had been some time ago, and this time, when he returned, he did not stick to the no-mans land as he usually would have. Instead, he headed directly toward one of the packlands. What drew him to this one in particular was the scent of salt that hung heavy upon the wind, and reminded him of his homeland. Eis had been far to the north, and part of the land lay at the shore of a vast body of water- an ocean. This place he found himself now making his way toward held that same salty scent, only it wasn't combined with the frigid scent of the cold, but rather warmth. Heavy, russet paws fall upon the earth that is slowly giving way to sand, and bright citrine eyes are roaming all around him, taking in all that he could. It was sudden, but his hears harked forward at the sound of a beckoning howl rising forth, summoning any that may be nearby to the beholder. Without a thought, Rio was guiding himself toward the source of the sound.

It seemed another had arrived just before him, and it seemed that this other was a pack member. The original caller seemed to be not as such, and this piqued Rio's interest a fair amount. Keeping his paw steps still silent, he made his way toward the pair before calling out to them. Salutations, strangers. He had always had a rather easygoing sense to him, and it showed no less by his body language and speech. Though he was taller than both of the others, and older, this did not impede nor change the way he would have viewed them if he were their age. He was not the type to hold himself above others simply because of age or appearance- no, what truly mattered was what lay beneath the skin. Rio knew this well. When he had finally drawn closer to them, he did not recline and relax, but rather stood there simply, roaming his gaze first over the male, and then the female. They both seemed well off, and this he took in good stride. The pack wolf seemed healthy and full of life, which was a good sign.

Dipping his rather large, russet skull to the male, he acknowledges the presence a pack wolf before speaking easily to him. His tones are gravely, of a tenor pitch, and rich in colour and tones. I'm Rio. Could you tell me what this place is? Gesturing with his muzzle, he simply swept it in a way to include the land they stood on the border of. He did not mean all of Moladion, but rather this specific pack. While he had spent some time in the land, he did not know the packs, and such brought his curiosity bubbling to the surface. Turning to the lady, black and gold in all her lovely beauty, he felt his dark lips curling across his muzzle in a rather charming and handsome smile he had no control over. And who might you be, schönes? The word was of his native tongue, and when he spoke it, his northern accent came to play in his speech. He didn't use it often, but when he did, it was almost always because someone simply brought it out in him. Such as the one his citrine gaze was currently focused on.

As if remembering himself, he glanced rather sheepishly at the male of the pair, before dipping his skull once more and chuckling quietly beneath his breath before addressing him. Forgive me. What might your name be? He was ever polite, as well as a gentlemen- it was simply in his blood to be and do so. He never failed in it, though his little faux pas has him slightly embarassed. But it doesn't last long as she gazes between the two, curious to who they were and if he could perhaps make two new friends. And, maybe, if he was lucky enough, even find a new home for himself. There was only one way to find out.
