Misty Mountain is opposite of Rainbow Cliff. Mists hover year-round at this high altitude, mistaken by some to be thin clouds. Thin layers of snow cover the mountain, making some areas slippery and hazardous.

Some think it romantic, a place to bring their mates, while others come to play and romp. However, all must agree that there is some level of mystery and spookiness hovering about with the mists...

Kahlan wanders through the land, anxiety rushing through her bodice. Her brother's pregnant mate had collapsed on the border of, perhaps, the most well-known and well-feared pack in the whole of Blossom Forest: Abendrot. The rumors of their kidnapping and cruelty had spread far and wide, thus lending to the fear of the whole Saw Tooth pack for Channing's well being. But Kershov himself had travelled to their terra, alone and without escort in order to tell them of what had transpired, and had promised her safety. So, Moth and her own brother, Henadin, had followed the Ice King to his homeland with the hopes of aiding her through her pregnancy and bringing both her and the pups home safely. But they had yet to return, and no news had been spoken or sent, so they were all without knowledge of Channing's health or of the health of the pups.

The timberess therefore was traveling through Blossom Forest, her auds finely tuned to the conversation of those who passed by her, for she was trying to pickup on something, anything, that would tell her one way or another. She kept her pace quick, to keep her mind actively set upon her motion rather than have it settle upon the dangerous situation. And yet, as she moved through the land, any stranger would be hard-pressed to tell of her worry, for her demeanor was calm and collected. For once, her extroverted personality had turned dormant and now lay hidden away, Kahlan's emotions kept silent. Introversion was her new pelt. For now.

But for all of her efforts, she had heard naught of Abendrot. The dark place lay quiet. Was it the calm before the storm? The fae did not know, and so had decided to brave the frigid mountain, and listen to the song of the wind in an attempt to hear what whispers of news it may carry. By the time she reached its peak, a cold sweat lay upon her pelt, as did a fine layer of snowflakes. The high pressure and humidity that came with the altitude allowed for such precipitation to form commonly.

As she tried to close out the rest of her mind, Kahlan became aware of the broken bits and pieces of words that the wind carried, but the sound of another lupine broke her concentration and Kahlan turned her head, her sunny orbs scanning the surrounding area until they lit upon a faeling, no more than a teenager. Knowing that she would be unable to regain her previous focus, the timberess traveled toward her, her russet and grey pelt shifted as she moved and yet it was glued to her skin due to the increasing amount of snow that was lain upon her. Before reaching the femme, Kahlan shook out her coat sending clumps of snow to the ground at her feet. "Hello. My name is Kahlan. Are...you alright?"
