aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Loyalty means nothing unless it has at its heart the absolute principle of self-sacrifice

The mottled grey brute gently carried the tiny pup through the dense thicket of woods, his long stride slow and smooth so as to not jounce the pup or upset her full stomach. His incisors were gently grasping her scruff as he traveled away from the clearing and the pack meeting toward his secret grove. Though he had shown many of his pack members various secret groves around the terra, for they were very nice and safe for sleeping, he had shown no one the one that he had chosen for his own den, just as a precaution. Carefully, the brute travelled down a steep ditch, each pawstep carefully chosen so as not to slip on the gravel, and then climbed out the other side, his path chosen just as cautiously. He didn’t want to stumble or trip, for he was carrying precious cargo. Next came a small stream that he had to cross over, more of a trickle than a stream, and finally he came to a large, dense circular grove. Pushing through the branches with his head lowered to protect the pup, he came to yet another grove, an internal one that seemed to be impenetrable due to the thick, full branches. Kalgalath circled the grove until he spotted the smallest of divots, and it was there that he crawled through, the divot turning into a smooth tunnel that ran under the wall of branches straight into the center of the fir grove.

The floor was lined with a thick padding of needles that had fallen from the surrounding trees. It was dark within, almost no light being able to infiltrate it, which meant that it was also protected from most forms of weather, even rain, though when it did rain he had to push through the branches to exit because the tunnel would fill with liquid and it always took a few days to drain. Gently, Kalgalath laid the pup on the soft bed and then curled around her. His warm tongue escaped his kissers as he began to clean her thoroughly, and hoped to stimulate her as well. Though Hellene had fed her again and given the herb whose name Kalgalath could not presently remember, he still feared for her well being. What if it was too late for the little pup? All he could do was wait and keep the pup warm. The first few days would be crucial. So he continued to clean her, the rest of the dried birthing fluids coming away from her pelt once his rough tongue swept across it. Once he deemed her to be clean, he put his maw to one of her tiny auds. Whether she knew words yet or not, it was time for her to start. “I shall call you Blayre. I’m Kalgalath… I’m your new daddy. You are safe now, little one.
