Summer has arrived. The world has been well at peace, and others seem to be trying to take advantage. They believe we are lazy and complacent. We are no such thing. Remain vigilante, friends and family.

I smiled softly as I turned once more to look upon my boy of sun and snow, the red of his Angel Marks gleaming like a fire most hot around his eyes and upon his chest, streaks of russet moving to run free of the red centre like the rising sun itself and the reason my boy so beautiful had been given this name. Solaris, the sun, when spoken in the latina and a name I am hoping perhaps, will grow most surely to sit well upon him. For all names must hold meaning, no child can be named without such and indeed perhaps, one day, my boy so small and soft and sweet will grow to be needed as all need the light of the sun above. The sun brings light, warmth and life. Never must he be forgetting these things, for it was as he was named, just as Sage was named for wisdom in youth and Achilles for courage, for bravery and heroism, things needed to greatly within this world at the time of his birth. The meaning of names is being most important, it is a guidance within this life, for indeed they are saying that there is not thing so pure as a child new born, that as his or her parents look upon this pup so young…..they simply see all that he or she may be and it is in this moment that such names are given, are fitted and worn. Heyel was named for all things un-tameable and wild, Zeivah for the light in the darkness and myself, in turn, was given my name for its meaning in the latina, Isola- she who shines alone. Nothing is done without a reason, no and indeed there is reason most great for why I have come this day to seat myself before the den of Azrael, my Brother, seeking my nephew within as my boy sits within my shadow. It is his desire to witness this thing, to learn and understand and I will not forbid it. A prince must be taught humility and grace of word before he is taught to stand tall in all that he is. I am believing also, that those of pack should be seeing he who, one day, may lead them though I am hoping most surely that never will anything befall my eldest son.
I lowered my head, tongue sweeping at the fur of my Solaris, fixing it as only a Mother can surely be doing, seeing it gleam and shine and indeed taking a pride at the strands of black fur that lay so well with the white. Perhaps my Father would take displeasure in such a thing, yet I do not, it shows only from whom he has come and never, I am thinking, would any seek to deny the blood of my Kane or Devil May Cry and Kiska. My ears moved forward with gentle tilt as a voice came from the den within and the boy for whom I had waited came, parting from the darkness to step into the light of the morning as his dark eyes narrowed in an attempt to allow him to see as a slight simper touched my lips, before a look of concern was given to place itself with gentle delicacy upon my features. It was momentary indeed and yet, for this brief and passing time it would seem Meryl looked, perhaps…..unwell, though it was quick to pass, the boy brightening, it would seem, at the sight of his cousin as my own head dipped in greeting and Solaris sat taller at the mention of his name before he too, was given to dip the soft sweetness of his head in respectful greeting.
“Yes, we are being most well.”
I spoke softly, smoothly, features inclined to a smile once more as I regarded the boy of dark and brown, born perhaps, to a family that no longer new him, yet residing, surely within one that valued him for that which he was. Indeed though, I am knowing my Brother most well and I am sure, truly, that while he is loving Meryl as his sons and daughters of true birth…..it is surely not said as it should be. They may deny it all they are liking, yet I am sure, very sure, that Azrael and Heyel and born from a mould most the same. The young healer spoke once more as he sat before myself and my son, asking indeed after that which we had come, my head nodding once more as the violet of my gaze fell upon him, seeking his own in this moment.
“We have come, Meryl, because pack is speaking of you, because they come each day to my den and tell me of the birth of their pups, for a leader must always be knowing of those who are born to her lands, yes. Many have come and nearly all with news most good to tell me the names of the sons and daughters born to Diveen this spring, yet, always they are telling me one name, always they are saying you came, to each female, to each den and watched over them as they birthed.”
I paused a moment, allowing these words I had spoken to sit and rest within his mind before I spoke gently again, words soft in the warm air of the coming summer.
“For a boy most young this is a gesture, a kindness and a duty most…..being of exception. This is a thing most brave for one so young and I am thinking indeed that you are holding talent and skill, that you are being one who is, how they are saying? Gifted. You are being more then that which rank is saying, you are deserving of more, for the kindness and loyalty you have shown to pack.”
I smiled again, reaching down softly to nudge Solaris forward. He moved forward, though perhaps a little unsure as he came to stand before me, to seat himself at my paws and hold himself tall as he spoke to Meryl, his voice so young and high though sure all the same.
”Meryl, Mater (mother) says that you have served pack and for this ser…service she says that you are no longer a Medic, that you deserve to be a true Healer of the pack. She told me I could make you that, because I am a Prince. I….I don’t really know the words but I…..declare you as Meryl, Healer of Diveen.”
He grinned most wide and proud my boy so small, turning to grin back at myself as I nodded in pleasure at his words before moving to meet Meryls gaze once more, nodding towards him, to assure him, that indeed, what Solaris spoke was the truth before stepping forward to touch my muzzle to his own in celebration of that which he had done.
“Your parents will be being most proud.”

Lightning Queen
The Queen of Diveen. She may accept all challenges and block any steal. She is the sworn protector of the pack and all who reside here.
Thunder King
The Lightning Queen's mate and second-in-comman. He may accept any challenge and block all steals. He may accept new members. This position cannot be challenged for but is currently empty.
Whirlwind
This rank belongs to the closest advisor to the Lightning Queen. This wolf can block steals and accept new members. When there is no Thunder King, this rank may accept challenges. This rank cannot be challenged for.
Stormfront
These wolves are the protectors of the borders and are personal guards to the Lightning Queen. They may help to gauge new wolves and are essentially the domestic protector. In certain times they may be called upon to resolve domestic disputes, but generally they are tasked with watching the borders or staying close to the Lightning Queen. At times, information may need to be brought to the Stormfront who will personally deliver messages to the Lightning Queen.
Quake
The Quake is the lead warrior and in charge of the Tremors, who make up the brute force of the pack. This wolf is a protector of the borders and may accept new wolves. They may be called upon to help gauge a new member. They train the Tremors. Haze
The Haze is the head thief and secret keeper of the pack, charged with acting in the pack’s best interest and operating with a low profile. They train the Mists. They also act as a scout, relaying and finding out information. They work closely with the Tsunami. This wolf may block steals. Monsoon
The Monsoon is the lead healer and caregiver of the pack. They are tasked with healing wounds, assisting with births, and making sure that the pack remains happy and healthy both mentally and physically. They may also be called upon to boost morale through storytelling or other means. They train the Rains. Tsunami
The Tsunami is the lead diplomat and peacekeeper, tasked with protecting the pack from internal and external strife, as well as form treaties and ally with other packs in conjunction with the Lightning Queen and Whirlwind. They report directly to the Lightning Queen, and train the Tides. Blizzard
The Blizzard works closely with the Haze, but is more of an information gatherer. They may act as a thief at times, but are largely tasked with spying and scouting, reporting their findings to their superiors. Hurricane
The Hurricane is the head hunter of the pack. They train the Wind and organize pack hunts.
Rainbow
This wolf is the joker of the pack. Their job is to bring a smile to everyone's face and try to keep a light mood. They will be tasked with caring for pups and keeping an eye on them. They are the keeper of all types of fun and games for the pack. Gale
The Gale is concerned mostly with keeping track of the history of the pack, collecting stories and learning of events that might have happened long ago. They might tell history as stories to pups or create events in honor of those who have gone before.
Tremors
These wolves report to the Quake and make up the protectors and warriors of the pack.
Mists
The agents of the Haze, these wolves are tasked with maintaining order through more secretive means.
Tides
The Tides are diplomats and report to the Tsunami, they may be tasked with updating treaties or contacting allies.
Rains
These are the healers and caregivers of the pack, and they report to the Monsoon. They may be called upon as healers or babysitters. Winds
These are the hunters of the pack, responsible for feeding each member. They report to the Hurricane. Snows
These are the scouts of the pack, reporting to the Blizzard- they are involved with information gathering, both internal and external, and may be called upon as guerilla fighters of sorts should the time come.
Dusk
The general members of the pack, those who have not yet chosen a path or rank. However, they are still highly valued and may be called upon for other things.
Twilight
The apprentices of the pack, pups older than one who are in training.
Dawn
The innocence and the future of our pack.
Day
Esteemed guests of the pack.
Sun
Those allied with the pack, to be treated with respect and offered assistance.
Moon
Those who shine down upon us and guide us with their light.
Eclipsed
Those who have proven themselves enemies of the pack, they should not be trusted.
