At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

zelda || mate of hex || no children || no pack || no rank || greensmurf

Zelda's fur, a light mixture of different shades of brown, intermingled with Hex's similarly colored pelt. It felt nice to have their scents mixing together once again. She felt comfort when he ran his tongue against her cheek and ear in a sweet kiss. As he began speaking, she looked at him with a smile across her face. His first words caused her tail to thump against the ground a few times. It really hit her now; she was finding a home. For the first time since the pack she had been born in, there would be a real physical place she could call home. Of course Hex is what made it complete. They say home is where the heart is, and hers was definitely with that boy. Hex then went on to offer sharing something with her. She loved soaking in all she could of him and she nodded, moving her gaze to watch the water instead.

The she-wolf listened intently to his story, filing away all the details that he shared. She had never heard about this part of his life before, just as he had never heard anything of her childhood. He spoke of his brother, which hit home for her as she had also told of a brother that had died. In a less noble way, but a dead brother is just as missed either way. He spoke of how his brother had saved him, and how he wasn't proud of who he was growing up. Zelda thought back to her own adolescence... because of her father, she and her brother tended to lay low. Maybe that explained why she was so outgoing now, too much energy held in from when she was growing up. Hex then went on to talk of how he hoped to honor Curse's memory, and she felt warmth from his words. Like she was honored to be considered good enough to be part of his future. He ended with a sigh, and now it was her turn to comfort. She nuzzled her head against the side of his and gave the end of his muzzle a few sideways kisses. Not only to express her love, but to thank him for sharing. He then proceeded to present her with a proposition. She pulled her face away from his so she could properly face him, a large grin on her face that mirrored his.

“You can just call me Mrs. Hex.”

Her golden eyes were bright with the joy she felt, and she winked at him after accepting his offer to become mates. Her heart felt so full and Zelda felt positively high on life. She couldn't remain sitting still and she lunged upward from her seated position and wrapped her front legs around his neck. She gave the top of his head a lick before pushing off of his shoulders to land back on her paws. She was grinning and watching her beloved Hex to see what was next for them; Sawtooth perhaps.
