At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

The ashen maiden had determined in the premature hours of the morning to escape the pack lands and visit Leisure Lake. She could have been accused of slacking on her duties as a ranked wolf but the borders had not been visited by a lone wolf for many days now. Apart from perhaps one wolf but he had called directly to another pack member in particular. It would have been deeply rude of her to intrude on the conversation. Although the girl couldn’t help but wonder what it could have been about…? Leila had always been a prying character or as she would have delicately put it – inquisitive. But she had never been brave enough to enquire about it. Sometimes, if she had enough courage she could have been noticed subtly eavesdropping. But those days were as a pup, now Leila had much more respect for other wolf’s privacy. So with no remorse, Leila would depart from Aurora Borealis with a glow of lightness in her heart. She was eager to acquaint herself with new wolves and perhaps form new friendships in the process. It was a pleasant feeling to escape the homeland of her pack, something new for once; she preferred change.

At a brisk pace, the darkened tempest crossed over the width of the territory, aiming for the area she knew that she could navigate from. Her paws were silent, delicate upon the ground as she travelled towards the area. Her tail was swaying softly, forming a small breeze. Leila’s nostrils flared as she consumed the sharp scent of fresh water. There was a lengthy river by the borders of their pack, Romance River. This wasn’t the destination she had travelled for but simply something she had to pass. As she trotted past the river, her emerald gazers scrutinized many wolves. Some were sitting alone, pining for company and some were sitting in pairs. She didn’t dwell on it too long; her heart didn’t ache for a true love. It simply ached for a new scene and some new wolves. Her paws slowly came to a halt as she reached the ending of the river- which opened up into Leisure Lake.

She had surpassed Leisure Lake frequently in returning to the pack lands of Aurora Borealis. Although her journeys had been short thus she never ended up staying there for a long period of time. Her gazers crossed across the land where sunlight leaked amply across the length of the property. It caused a dappled effect to pattern over it. Her ashen toes rippled into the soft silt, churning it gentle and relaxing as the water consumed her paws like a rabid animal. She had settled on her pearly stomach, still searching the land. It was a pleasant area to visit if you ever needed a bit of company – or a safe place to escort your offspring to. There seemed to be wolves of all ages around. Leila smiled, fiery optics returning once more to reflection which was distorted by the fluttering ripples. She felt drowsy in the warm heat, peaceful in the serene area.

Leila’s nostrils flared delicately as her chin lowered promptly to her paw but it didn’t take long for tempting thoughts interrupt her doze. She lifted her head sharply once more, gazers swiftly searching the land and scanning for any attractive young males.

Some, she thought – but they would have to come to her. So the young lady simply rested.
