Pension Board Meeting

I have received many inquiries as to the Pension Board Meeting for the month of July.

I did not attend, as we were on a 21 day driving vacation up the East Coast all the way to upper Maine and back thru the Shanandoah and Blue Ridge Parkways.

However I have received a recorded copy of the meeting from Retiree Dennis Ribaya. Thanks Dennis.

This must have been Chastise Trustee Fox day at the Board meeting.

The Trustees spent approx. 20 minutes discussing Trustee Fox's request to change the minutes to quote her actual statement about talking to a Pension Board vendor ( in the past the Board removed actual Quotes of Past Board Attorney Ron Cohen, at his request , but did not insert Trustee Fox's quote ) THIS IS VERY PUZZLING!

The Trustees spent approx. 15 minutes discussing Trustee Fox's question as to why Past Board Attorney Ron Cohen and Past Trustee Patrick Lynch did not receive Plaques for their service, as has been done in the past for others Trustee Gray stated that Mr. Cohen did not get a plaque because Mr. Cohen has not cashed his last check yet..

All I understand from the answers to this is that certain Trustees had a vendetta to impose on these two individuals. Real Important Pension Business wasn't it.

I must applaud Trustee PJ Gray for his heaping much credit to Trustee Lynch's innovations and leadership of new methods of operations of our Pension Fund while Trustee Lynch was Chairman and on the Board. This Puzzles me as to why Trustee Gray did not present Trustee Lynch with a Plaque, as Trustee Gray was Chairman when Trustee Lynch retired. As Chairman, Trustee Gray was very quick to see that Interim Attorney Patrick Gonyea received a Plaque.

Plan Attorney Mr. Klausner mentioned that there were too many Procedures and Policies .

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! I have been citing this since September 2011, when I first started attending and being active in the goings on of our Pension Board.

Also Mr. Klausner brought up the subject of having a meeting with the Board and all the Actives and Retirees to Air out any concerns on ALL the parties of both factions. Mr. Klausner 1st brought this up with a group of us ( Sam Sinardi, Fred Jones, Bobby Buggica, Joe Moscato, and Myself ) prior to the Pension Board meeting of June 2013.

I think this is an excellent idea.

Also Mr. Bowen , of the investment Firm gave his report and the fund is at a 14% gain and as he said" lets keep our fingers crossed that it lasts till September 30th." so we can get a 13th Check.( 8 months later, in June 2014 )!!!

Tampa Fire Rescue ( Ret. ) District Chief Fred Urbuteit.
