My ever watchful gaze sweeps over the wolves present, hungrily seeking out something worth my attention. They pause on the red and white form of Cade, watching her luscious lips pull into an amused smile as she watches her brother's reaction to her apology. So teasing, so mysterious in her own right. When her gaze draws to my own, my eyes widen slightly, surprised by how fast she is to turn her own gaze away. It does look almost forced but none the less, when did it become so easy for her to look away from me? Have I not been doing my best to prove myself to her, to show her another side of me? We haven't had a lot of time to ourselves recently but I've been there, dammit. Why do I get the cold shoulder?
And this Nemo business is getting old fast. I can tolerate the boy and I'm intrigued myself to learn about him but why do all the available females in this pack have to follow suit? First Seline staring him down like he's the biggest prize at the fair and now Cade's own gaze stops on the male, watching him with new interest. Is the boy giving off pheromones or something? I wrinkle my nose slightly, twitching an ear toward him. Suddenly Cade's on him like white on rice, all up in his personal space, something I like to do to those I'm harassing. I tilt my head, eyes darkening a bit in irritation. What the hell is she playing at? I almost feel bad for the boy. Then again, I wouldn't mind my face being that close. Just in reach of a good bite or two if you ask me.
Meanwhile Seline watches one of our audience leave with a snarl, the warning obvious in her face as the overzealous male disappears from sight. Good riddance. She turns her attention to Nemo as well, smirking when he says that she can call him whatever she likes. There's dirty thoughts in her eyes and I find myself shifting ever so slightly. She chuckles, an inviting sound. Then she greets him, purring his name like the newest trend. My ears flick back for a moment or two, eyes darkening once more. At one point, she glances over at me as if just now noticing I'm still here, pressing her form up against me like that will do anything to ease my restlessness. She follows my gaze and chuckles, seemingly catching the hidden meaning between Cade and I though she only seems more amused. When she gets to her paws, I watch cautiously, knowing she's unpredictable and for all I know, she might go over to harass Nemo some more and join in with Cade.
She surprises me though instead, drawing her body up to curl around me like a snake, rubbing her body alongside mine, her perfume surrounding me and her closeness spiking my adrenaline up a notch or three. What? Even as a thousand year old vampire, I'm still a guy. I make a low pitched groan, just loud enough for her to hear as my skin ripples with pleasure at the contact. I don't quite understand this game the two Satanican females are playing when it comes to Nemo and I, but you'd better believe I'm sticking around to find out. Even as Cade gets up in Nemo's space, I feel the gaze of her dam upon me. Drawing my ice blues to her own emeralds, I catch the slight challenge in her gaze and I return it without hesitation. I have heard the rumors of Satanicans and how they pride themselves on being able to overcome any obstacle. Do I think for one second that I'll get to see an all out cat fight between Seline and Cade? Not a chance. Both are too cunning to be so obvious about it. They'll stay behind the scenes, scheme and plot. Perhaps with time, they'll both turn on me cause this is a tight family. I've done my research. Well, let them. The Satanicans have never met someone like me before.
Another figure approaches the clearing and my head snaps around, gaze falling on the black and gray male who lumbers more into the clearing than anything. He looks...almost lost, a sense of forlorn draped around him like a cloak. He seems out of place as he looks at Quirino and then Cade but when his eyes land on the red and white former queen, they freeze and I catch the subtle look of recognition. Ah, they know each other. It seems to be more than just the look from a follower to his former queen but who am I to judge? He seems to be waiting for her reaction, her cue to let him know what to do next. Meanwhile I'm a little disgruntled that he didn't even dip his head in respect to Cade. Perhaps he thinks Seline is the alpha still. My tail twitches but I decide to stay out of it and let the ladies deal with him. I continue watching him curiously though.
Nemo seems overwhelmed by everything going on around him. He looks away when Seline purrs at him, not even able to meet her gaze. He looks back forward though only to be faced with none other than Cade. At first he seems stunned then he surprises me by actually glaring at her, his eyes glinting to something hard and unbreakable, if only for a moment or two. That's it, Nemo, I silently cheer him on. But finally reality seems to catch up on him and he looks down, tucking his ears and looking every bit the scolded dog. He closes his eyes for a moment, his body tense and seemingly expectant even as he leans away from me. I tilt my head, ice blues watching him with intense curiosity. What is this? I note the lack of fur in some places on his head and then it comes to me with a familiar ting. Scars. The boy has been beaten into submission. I have seen this done many times before though I've never wanted to take part. I don't beat for pain, only for pleasure. If I want pain, I kill someone, though slowly and mercilessly. Beating is never a part of it cause that means you intend to leave them alive.
