A Survey of Anderby and Cumberworth
In 1689 Gervase Blanchard was found not guilty of “freding” on St. Andrew’s Day. But it seems he was often in trouble, for we find that – “Gervase Blanchard was pronounced excommunicate in ye Parish Church of Anderby ye 2nd day of March 1700, and so stands, he also died excommunicated”
