Cuban Missile Crisis 1962

Today, Aug 7, Rush Limbaugh put some guy on the air who claimed he was active duty Army Security Agency in 1962. The caller claimed that it was the Army ASA who provided President Kennedy with all the information about the Soviet ships and their cargo, where they were coming from and going to. I find that claim hard to believe, since the Naval Security Group was an elite group back then and was far more efficient and professional than the ASA and the Air Force Security Service. I find it hard to believe that the Navy was not on top of the game, eons ahead of the Army and Air Force. Unfortunately, that was just a couple of years before I joined the Navy. How about you old timers? What is the true story? Did the ASA scoop the Navy? The caller sounded a bit bogus to me, since some of his tech details just did not add up.
