It is rare that I travel this much in this short of time. I am need of it though, this travel. I want to see it for myself. I want to see the blue of the lake, feel the mist of the waters upon my palette. Do not ask why for this unknown even to me. My paw steps are light although I am moving fast. Slender, small form breaking through the lands obstacles easily. It doesn’t take me long to get from place to place. I am built for speed, this is why I have so few scars. They can never hit me. I am intuitive, observative. I know what moves they will make before they make them. My ears rest upon my cranium as they always do, flattened. It means nothing, it is how I am. The one time I slipped up, the bastard got a piece of my right ear. I will not dwell on that though.

In no time I am there and my breathing catches slightly. It is empty. Scents linger but none dwell here. Perfect for I have this moment all to myself. I inhale deeply, the fresh water’s unique scent lingering in my nostrils. The sun, I feel it upon my back. It is gentle upon me, stroking me with its rays. For a moment, I allow this relaxation and seat myself, curling my long tassel around my slender pillars. Memories fall upon me and then I am gone, back to my lands where I ruled, before the masses had destroyed and we had all fled.

A scent, a sound and then I am back to now, gray eyes flashing to the water before me. I do not move, I do not breathe for if they draw near, that’ll be the end of this serenity. For a moment, it is silent and then a heave a breath. My flattened ears flick slightly but do not raise. “Is there something I can do for you?” My words are not rude, I just wonder as to why this other cannot move over or at least away from me. A ruined moment. I refuse to turn and look at this intruder on my peace and quiet. They will either leave or make this interesting. Either way, I will not forget this lake.
