The only thing the young brute could do was wait, deteriorated muscles convulsing beneath his ashen pelt. Tag anticipated the future silently like a good hostage should for the little, stripy princess to finally make up her mind. All he wanted to know was what she had planned on doing with him. What was she planning in her twisted little head? Alas the little girl appeared to be occupied in her own world; she could only dwell on thoughts that whirled inside her head. He had considered making a snide remark but that been far too slow when the little mogul finally decided to bless the peasant with her decision. A smile had stretched on to her blood painted lips, the crimson liquid melding into her coat in a sickening fashion that almost made Tag grimace – almost. ‘Well, I-’ Interrupted again – was he never to know the future he sought? It was one simple question and he still had not received a solution.

A howl rose into the tense air, chiming deep into the chambers of Tag’s darkened lobes. It was clearly masculine and held a certain authority; it demanded the presence of Malignant Felicity. Tag did not recognise the owner of the howl; then again the only members he had had the misfortune to encounter were the female noble and Kavik. Tag’s auds flickered with a subtle interest as he watched the young princess listen – did she know him? ‘Arcadian!’ She did. His emerald gazers revolved swiftly to the face of the prince who seemed mystified to say the least at the proposition that his sister was familiar with the brute calling for a hearing. A plaster of envy had occupied Kavik’s features although the girl seemed to not notice – or perhaps she just simply ignored him. ‘I plan on taking you to the pack meeting!’ Tag’s stoic expression melded into astonishment; meeting even more wolves? Wolves with power? His eyes fixed upon her lunatic tail which wagged frantically – oh she just loved this. This was just a perfect day for the little princess, wasn’t it? ‘And if you don’t agree…’ Tag’s muscles jolted beneath his sooty cloak at his enemy’s threatening snarl. His eyes trailed up the bodice of the Princess, falling upon her face. “Oh I wouldn’t dare…” He spat.

The little tyrant’s head constantly flickered around in the foreign, dense air of Malignant Felicity’s forest; his crimson heart thumped frantically with every passing moment – so much he feared it would escape from his jaws. He hoped they couldn’t hear it… It would only confirm any suspicions of him in fright or distress. Above, the haunting song of a murder of crows lingered in the air. It chimed profoundly within Tag’s ears and sent shivers to cascade down his spine. All around there was pungent cologne of death. It was awful… Quite promptly an ample scent of wolves invaded his nostrils and within that moment he could neither smell nor think of anything else. He was going to die. He was going to die. HE WAS GOING... TO DIE. His gazers passed over Kavik, noticing the discomfort that he displayed. He remained silent knowing full well that he was in no comfort either – and it would be too dangerous to insult him so close to the pack meeting. It was dangerous to insult him at all.

The tyrant’s ears flickered to the Princesses lyrics shattered the deafening silence that engulfed the boy’s lobes. Why couldn’t she shut up? He growled half-heartedly as she announced him as Mister Groundhog. He didn’t take too kindly to that nickname. Tag’s broke away from his mingled thoughts, trailing up into the face of the Princess. “That sounds amazing! I just adore meeting wolves who are probably going to bite my head off.” He snapped. “But if you must know – I’m Tag.” His words were sour like unripe fruit, bold like a raging bull. And his expression was contorted in fury.

‘They’re all my mother’s subjects… I mean—most of them are. I think I’m related to a few of them. I don’t know. The BEST one is named Arcadian—‘

Although Tag certainly held no fondness or pining for the stripy Princess’ voice, he listened with a subtle interest – his sooty ears revolving to catch the words that delicately fell upon his lobes. Who was Arcadian? He had to admit, it was certainly an improvement to the deafening silence that was only intruded by the rude songs of crows. It was eerie here… When she stopped abruptly, Tag’s head rose to see what had caught her attention – immediately followed by a sharp intake of breath. They had reached the clearing… How hadn’t he noticed their scent growing stronger?

Kira seemed to be non-threatened by the …. How many were there? By the eight wolves in the meeting… which one was Arcadian? Which one was their mother – was she here? His gazers crossed over to Kavik who cowered next to his sister. Tag scowled; at least he wasn’t going to get his head bit off, he was the son of the Queen!

The Princess announced her arrival with a cheerful voice, proclaiming that she had brought a guest… He growled silently; only reluctantly.
