The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

Winn Dixie
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The vixen flicked her auds as Aerten spoke, knowing that the rumors were true. Winn Dixie wasn't one to gossip in the intention of harming one, she just liked to know things. The topic was split in half when Aerten asked about the lass's paw, and Winn Dixie flipped her paw over to inspect it. The small wound had scabbed over, but it was still slightly painful to walk on. Oh, it still hurts when I walk sometimes, nothing too unbearable. Other than that, the scab should come off soon and I should be fine. I'm lucky it did not become infected. The mottled female's auds flicked as a figure roamed out of the bushes. The alabaster king didn't seem angry at all, however, she was sure there was still something hot left bubbling in him.
Winn Dixie dipped her head in greeting at the king, keeping her eyes on the ground. She was afraid of the alpha, he was so much larger than her and powerful... The lass did not doubt for one second the damage his jaws would do. Greetings, Kershov. The vixen nodded at the king's words, her suspicions unfortunately confirmed. Knowing the alpha, no matter how little time she had been here, Winn knew that the mother would not leave without something left behind. It may be blood, fur, even one of the pups, but she knew Kershov would not let the family leave unscathed by Abendrot.
There was a tone to his voice, the way he spoke that definitely notified her that the male was angry. The mottled girl once again nodded at his words of the family working out in the pack's favor. I still don't understand why she couldn't give birth by herself. The vixen paused. Ancestors have been doin' it for years... but I suppose as you said, Kershov, it shall perhaps work in our favor. She shifted uncomfortably, afraid that her words would only do harm to the king's already hot emotions. Blue portals stayed trained on the alpha's large alabaster paws.
