Magnus was ready, action reaction, this girl, she was nothing compared to his brother who often took play fighting too far. Pride made him push harder, his brother had said once after they were done biting eachother to pieces. The rusty hooded boy did not back down from a fight either. Though that was his nature, demon as he was he did not like backing down, he was bred to keep fighting regardless what he was put through, shaped by his mother who would take away necessities to make both boys strive to be better than the rest.
Viora, though clearly a warrior at heart, had not been through such trials. All children usually were not put through such things, but Rogue had reared Magnus and his brother very differently. She wanted them to be self sufficient sooner and once adults, better spawn than any. Magnus was honestly bewildered by the boy’s utter lack of enthusiasm at a challenge. He could hear the boy yelling like a helpless girl while his sister actually was attempting to challenge him. Focus. Focus, ignore the foolish distractions of those who were not important.
Sadly it seemed she had not been taught this lesson. Magnus plowed full force into her, rolling in to pin her to the ground. Sure he was not that much bigger than her, but an inch could turned into a mile if used properly. It seemed though she knew what she was doing. Her sharp puppy teeth snapped up at him, biting into his thicker chest fur but still touching his skin in a very painful pinch, though not as terribly bad as his brother’s bite it still hurt. He grit his teeth, feeling her push him away and not denying the chance to put a little distance between him and the feisty girl. He liked her, and he was certain if he would have had a sister she would have been a little dagger like her.
That ringing noise of her annoying sibling was still ringing in his ears, though. What was he saying, that Magnus did not know what he was saying. He knew exactly what he was saying. This girl was fighting him for her own reasons, surely, not because of what Magnus had said. Truthful information that someday the boy would hopefully learn before he got himself into trouble with demons or angels. He stepped away from the girl, calculating her movements, and also appraising her strong spirit. Magnus couldn’t help but give a bit of a grin at her, the first smile to touch his maw in quite some time. Something about her, just seemed right in his eyes and in the code.
Her sly look didn’t go unnoticed, nor when she turned her gaze to her shrieking brother, who clearly did not have the backbone of his sister. Was this how his mother felt when she compared him and Alchemy? Clear preference? He knew what it was like now, and Tristan only had himself to blame for his failings in that department. Least, that was what Magnus was taught. It was why he never showed any envy when it came to skills that were better in certain categories.
Still was it so easy to turn on blood like that? He had to wonder, as she bypassed him to launch herself at Tristan. He didn’t want to deny her wishes though, it sounded very nice to quite the loud boy. Playing was always fun, though perhaps it wasn’t Tristan’s cup of tea, it was certainly much more fun than listening to him babble on wrongly about him. He trotted up towards Viora, close behind him. There were two actions he would take. If Viora missed her tackle, or if Tristan managed to upright himself quickly enough Magnus would make to also tackle the black and white boy. A failure for him to stand or escape his sisters launch would result in the slightly older boy grabbing his maw and keeping it shut. Magnus had to agree, the silence and lack of screaming would indeed be nice.
