At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

One Step Closer to the Edge and I’m About to Break  |
_________________________________________________________________________ As the teen helped his new friend swim to shore she gave him a thankful smile and he was glad that she was ok with his help and that it didn’t bother her. Water dripped from the two friend’s russet pelts as they made their way out of the water back to where they had previously been sitting. Before Mezic sat down he shook out his coat, water droplets splattering everywhere. He heard Dib giggle as she reached over and playfully bumped him. He smiled his goofy smile at her and playfully touched her back before stretching out his lankly limbs. As Mezic paused before answering his friends question about helping him behave more appropriately he heard her whine as she sat up, ears flat against her head, as she wrapped her tail around her paws. Mezic looked over with concern, wondering what was bothering her and nudged his muzzle to her gently to comfort her and show that he wasn’t offended. He answered her with a smile and wagging tail as her ears perked to listen. Dib pawed at the ground with excitement as she responded with a happy yip, ”Well just to you know, I think you did a fantastic job of raising yourself. You should be proud of yourself.” The young brute smiled and wagged his tail with the compliment. Hearing the words come from Dib really meant a lot to him. His friend then began her lecture, teaching him some fundaments to begin with. ”Well I guess the main thing to remember is your manners. Always show the upmost respect to the Alpha or Alpha’s of your pack. They are royalty and should not be treated any differently.” For once Mezic sat down and listened intently, large russet ears perked and amber eyes alert. When she paused he nodded in understanding, waiting to see if she would go on. ”When you meet the Alpha you should dip your head and if they ask it of you submit and show the tender parts of your body. This will show them that you respect them and most monarchs will appreciate the gesture, I assure you. Okay so next, I guess we can talk about manners. Manners are important with every wolf and will hopefully keep you out of fights. Remember to always say please and thank you and try and mind your tongue with more aggressive wolves. Asking lots of personal questions can sometimes get you into a lot of trouble so be sure to think carefully about what you are going to say. You with me so far?” Again Mezic nodded, “submit and be respectful to Alphas and use manners with everyone. Don’t ask too many questions, especially with more aggressive wolves. Gotcha. I’m not so good at keeping my mouth shut, as I’m sure you’ve noticed,” he said these last words with his goofy smile and winked at Dib playfully before continuing, “But I always try to be polite and respectful to other. Any other important tidbits?” Mezic’s mind wandered to his meeting with the wolves of Cold Summers. He felt bad that he hadn’t submitted to Axel upon his arrival to the pack. He hoped that his alpha knew that it was out of ignorance and not disrespect, but he had accepted him so there had to be something he had seen in the teen. Mezic felt like he had been respectful to Lolita though, even though she didn’t seem like the cheeriest of wolves. And then there had been Malik, the brute he had recently met. He definitely wished that he had had Dib’s advice about not asking too many questions and to mind his tongue around aggressive wolves after seeing how he had angered Malik. Luckily Malik wasn’t the type that would hurt for no reason, and thankfully Mezic hadn’t done anything to cause serious harm to come to himself. ________________________________________________________________________ |
