Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

I did not miss the grin that kissed his golden features as his words rushed from his mouth, effectively overriding everything that I had wanted to say. Ears flick back for a second but they return to their original position rather quickly. I did not know if I liked it but this is why I wanted to spend time with him. I wanted to learn him, to see if this is truly him or if he had ulterior motives. I did not want to have to constantly look over my back, to see if he plotted. He could be innocent in his ways. He could be a valuable asset. I will find out. Yet with that said, I still did not like it. Hey who said that I had to be amiable? ”Yes I do realize that. I just did not feel the need to rush.” I pause. Did he just say that my den was lopsided? Well maybe not in said terms but I am pretty sure that is what he meant. Turning I inspect the den, gazing critically upon it and sure enough he was right. The smart mouthed fool actually had a use! Can you feel the sarcasm?

”My boy you are indeed correct. So how do you propose we correct it without adding a second entrance? Wouldn’t a tunnel like a rabbit be more practical if we were to add another entrance? If danger were to occupy this one another would be needed not so close.” I trail off, eyeing him yet thinking at the same time. Rabbits tended to have burrows with entrances in different places. So they could dash in one and exit away from whatever predator that pursued it. Tail wavers, giving a wag or two as the grin alights upon the muscular boy’s face. He is slowly starting to see him in a different light, the key word being slowly.

Pan then offers his interpretation of my earlier query and had I been given to dramatic displays I might have rolled my eyes. He really did tear apart every word and analyze each and every meaning. I merely wanted to know if he had the foggiest idea why I wanted to see him. I had given the impression that I wanted to get the pack up and running again so I would have thought he would know I wanted to task him with something. A simple yes or no would have sufficed but then as I am learning, simple words have no purchase in his vast mind. ”No Pan, I do not wish to discuss your attitude. However it does leave much to desire I am starting to see that it is just your personality. Have you always been so…analytical?” I gaze at him, truly curious. I have lost all the previous tension and reservations.

I begin to walk now, casting a long glance toward the heavens when Pan once again corrects me. My I think I will need all the help I can get. ”All of them Pan.” Is all I say for I want to know the answers to them all. I want to know what he wanted out of life so that I could help him achieve it. I wanted to know what made him tick, what drove him so that I could effectively utilize him. I wanted to know what he was good at and what he enjoyed doing so that I did not bore him. I wanted to hear his past achievements so that I could get a good feel so that there will be more. I wanted to know it all. As he begins to answer me I fight the urge to huff. He really could be smart assed.

However with that said I did listen as he spoke, taking it in as well as the bridge when he indicated it. It was built from what appeared to be driftwood, sticks, mud, and rocks. A structure that would allow the wolves of my pack safe travel from the mainland and to the island. A wonderful invention indeed. ”That Pan is truly impressive!” I meant that as I praised him, finally taking in the full extent of his glorious mind. Turning back to him, eyes holding more respect for him. ”Tell me what position did you hold before and yes I would like to hear your ideas on gathering alliances. Just the other day Iromar approached seeking one. What are your thoughts about that?”

Yes, I really wanted to know for the boy before me was truly amazing and I planned to work alongside him to bring our pack to glory. Even if I do have to listen to his many many sharp words in the meantime.
