Yindy had run and run some more, not once did she dare stop as she was afraid the monster would catch her. Her body burned, her entire body soaked with sweat as white lather was beginning to form on her neck and slides down her back legs. Nostrils flared as wide as they would go, hot desert air filled her lungs that scorched her nearly bursting lungs. The sinking sand and the distance she had made, it was amazing the made had not pulled something, broken something or simply collapsed.
Speed had always been one of Yindy’s better skills and as she slows once entering Pyrate’s territory, she is ready just to fall to the ever shifting grains below despite the lack of shade. Looking over her shoulder she does not see the beast but that does not mean he isn’t following. But it was then that Pyrate’s voice rang through the air. Too distracted to hear the hurt in his voice, she faces the direction she had heard him from. Forcing herself into a long trot as that was all she could muster the mare finally makes it to her stallions side.
Yindy knew the stink of the stallion would be all over her, the teeth marks upon her withers evidence to why. Whites rimmed her wild eyes, sides heaving as she couldn’t quite catch her breath. She couldn’t speak, her breath too lost to muster words and she is quick to move so that she can press her shoulder against Pyrate’s, her face turning back the direction she had come from and her ears pushed forward to listen for any sound of hoof beats.
