The silver, smoky brute made his way slowly through the territory. He was finally feeling like his old self after a few moons of his sulking on his own. Sulking was not something that Summer usually did; it was actually quite the opposite of his normal demeanor. He was usually a very outgoing, cheerful, playful even at times, wolf that was always smiling. The past few weeks he had been a depressed stupor. He came to Bright Moon, hastily got accepted by Ambrosia before the femme had to rush to defend her territory from a challenging lupine. Summer had hoped that joining a pack would distract him from the sorrow of his father’s death, but it had not. Instead he had gone off by himself, finally deciding he was ready to become an active member of the pack. As the gray brute was walking by himself he heard a call ring through the trees, someone was at the borders. Summer knew he wasn’t ranked member, but what better way to show the others that he was ready to prove his worth than greeting strangers at the borders. Of course he would never accept anyone, but he could greet them.
The brute quickened his pace, heading in the direction of the call, his large ears alert to the sound. As Summer came closer to the borders he saw two femmes. He stayed back a bit, not sure if he should show his face or if the other Bright Moon member had things under control, but he could sense hostility and decided to stay to make sure she was okay. The white Bright Moon femme had her plume held high with authority as she spoke sharply to the stranger, “Abendrot wolfess…Get the hell away from my pack.” Summer was impressed with her power, she was definitely a lupine that he did not want to be on the bad side of. She snarled at the Abendrot intruder, a pack that Summer had heard some harsh things from, and he decided to come out to show support for his fellow Bright Moon pack mate.
The brute came out of the trees, his fur bristling in case of a fight. He kept his stature held strong, but making it clear to the ivory warrior that he was not attempting to show that he was above her. He stayed behind her, not speaking, just showing that he was there for support if she should need it. Summer looked on as the intruder lowered her stature to the ground, lowering her eyes and plume as well as she spoke, “I am quite sorry, ma'am, I was heading towards the plateau and I must have strayed too close for comfort as I was daydreaming.” She started heading in that direction, staying low, but spoke again, “Just curious, I have heard rumors about Tamlin. Are these rumors true?” She came forward a bit, and Summer was surprised at her question. Word spread fast through Blossom apparently if an Abendrot wolf knew about Tamlin’s absence. The brute continued to stay silent, waiting to see how his packmate would answer.
