News - SUMMER

Summer has arrived. The world has been well at peace, and others seem to be trying to take advantage. They believe we are lazy and complacent. We are no such thing. Remain vigilante, friends and family.

Give your congratulations to Maiko. She has been promoted to Blizzard; she earned it.

We also have an activity check going. Please reply so I can make adjustments accordingly. Check will go for an entire month so we can hopefully capture everyone.

As always, if you have need of me, do not hesitate to find me.

Return to Lunar Children
I could be a shadow
IP: 24.27.96.14

I knew she was coming. It felt it in my very bones, my very core. My soul was coming to Diveen, and for what reason, I do not know. I do know that she is coming to these lands, and it is a sensation that I cannot ignore.

I do not want to leave the shadows this day. I do not want to leave it at all. The last time I went out into the beyond, I lost my very ear. It is gone now, my left ear. Meryl ripped it off after I came to him and his father with it...dangling about from an attack by a Diveen wolf. That young boy had likely saved my life that day. I think I should have bled to death. I still remember seeing blood cover my good eye, feeling my ear fill with my own life liquid. I was not able to defend myself, or my Mother. I know not if she is alive. I know nothing. I have failed her, as I have failed all. I was not meant to be something great, I am the world's punching bag when I step into the light. Yes, I think I rather like it here in the shadows.

But she is here. I must go to her.

I feel a whine crawl out of my silver muzzle at the thought of leaving my safe zone near Azrael's den. He is gone though, Azrael to war. He is a strong wolf. Very strong and smart. He is capable of fighting off others, but I was always at a disadvantage. He isn't even around to help me feel safe in this world where everyone wants to rip you limb by limb. I must be strong though, for her. I must. I gulp slightly, my one good eye gazing out of the den that I made. Slowly I come to my dark silver paws, lifting my tall lanky form. I come to the edge of the den, my golden eye glistening as I allow my muzzle to touch the soft light. I scurry forward, my dark form scrambling for the nearest shadow to hide my form in. My golden eye darts back and forth, my head going with it for I only have one eye, and my one ear turns to listen for any strange noises. I can still hear in my left ear, but I cannot pinpoint and direct the sound like I used to. No, it is stranger this way. At least before, I was already blind in my right eye.

My tall form of liquid ink blends with the darkest of shadows as I move along the most comfortable paths in Diveen. I know the areas least tread, areas where no one really goes often. This is where I travel, in the depths of darkness where my form belongs. I find myself looking around often as I am pulled closer to the border of Diveen. A border I do not want to cross by myself, not without someone I trust, for I do not know what creatures slither right beyond it. There are demons that even live in Diveen. I am not safe here, nor was I safe in Iromar. I do know, that once Azrael comes back, that I had planned to go to Glorall to stay next to my light, to shield her from the evils that I know linger in the land. I must protect her from these monsters that seek and destroy. I must and I wonder, if she knew. If she felt as I felt for her. If she came to take me back to Glorall. I wonder, but I cannot be certain. I...I am hopeful that she is here for me, but I am...nothing. Nothing but a pathetic wolf that clings to the shadows. She deserves so much more.

I sense that she is closer, and I make sure that my silver touched paws move my obsidian form with great grace as I follow the unbeaten paths towards her. My light is here, and I am feeling a rush of something...wonderful inside of me. I am...I think, excited is the word, for the first time in a long time. I can feel my heart starting to rush as images of her face flood into my mind. I can see her pumpkin orange eyes glistening and it makes me feel like I am flying. I have not noticed that my pace goes a bit quicker, that my paws sometimes catch a small dusting of light here and there. Her pull is so strong, so alluring that it even invades my very senses.

I find that she is so close, that my nose catches her perfect perfume in the air. My nose lifts, sniffing softly as it seeps into my very being. I find that I follow it with ease, until I finally see her with my one good eye, standing far off in the light. She radiates, like a shining jewel among the darkness that swirls my void insides. And yet, I still do not know her name, and she does not know mine. I still, find that I know her inside and out, that she is me and I am her, that I do not even need such things as names. I watch from afar, in shadows where no one would notice me. I am too distant, and they are too distracted. I see so many, the forms of my light with puppies, another female, and the white wolf that is Azrael's father. So many are gathering, and I am but an outcast. The hideous freak raised in Iromar, stolen to Diveen, where neither place I belong.

I find after a moment, that I cannot stand her in the veil of shadows and wait to get closer to her. I must be closer. I travel in a large, wide circle, around the group. It is fall, when the leaves of trees litter the ground in a red and yellow display. I move so wide, that it is likely no one would notice me. I jump over small rocks, only tripping slightly and regaining my footing quickly. Nothing was going to slow me down. Not even my poor vision and depth perception. I do not...want her to see me, in front of everyone else, for, I am even uglier than I was before. My very ear was ripped from my head, to only make me look for freakish than before. I know that it is not common, and not normal. I know that it is a sign of weakness and sometimes I wish my form would just disappear into the wind, never to be seen again. No one really wants to see me, not truly but my light, and even then...even then I am...I am her ugly side. I find myself behind my light, the girl named Everchime that I may one day know, looking upon her with great affection from afar. My form blends with the darkness that I choose to stay in, for she need not see my ripped off ear. I will watch her quietly from a distance, ensure that she is well and that no one will harm her. This time, I am not sure if I can rip myself from her. This time, I might be her shadow for good.
