Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

He looks upon her as she says her words, that we too must change. The male gave a slight nod to her in agreement. Yes, it is the truth that we all must change, and Yojimbo knew it to be so. Yojimbo's surroundings used to be an ever changing thing, and one must always adjust to the landscape. Survival of the fittest, and survival of those willing to adapt. He notices as the female nods to herself, and he can feel the wind telling him more about this female. She is about his age, yes, but she is not from here. Her scent is from far, and her eyes hold a kindness that is...possibly covering something deeper inside the woman. That is why he moved at her slowly, in a non-threatening level. Yojimbo, only wishes for peace, happiness, and the exchange of knowledge with others. He can sense that this female, may appreciate it. her tail wags behind her, and he is glad that she does not find him to be a threat, and he hoped that he wasn't being too..intrusive. It was rare to find one with a scent that is not from Diveen, and he must admit that he is a curious creature at times.

He wonders why it is that her face falls. Why sadness is pulled onto her lovely features. He knows not why his words bring her such pain. She thinks hard as the male of black tinged with copper looks upon her with great concern and care. Yojimbo never believed that someone needed to know another for a long time to care. He knew that empathy and concern can extend to all creatures, all things, even those with the hardest of hearts. His concern was easily etched upon his masculine features, something that was more easily seem upon his rather solemn face than that of extreme happiness or joy. He was an even tempered male, rarely going to the extremes in any direction of emotion. Her next smile, is not nearly as genuine. He can see the force behind it, for one cannot smile a genuine smile unless it is so. Yojimbo frowns slightly as she begins to speak. Her words, are hinted with a feeling he felt deep inside, over his Pompeii. Yet, it was something he had to live with, to go on with.

"You are more in control of your mind, than you may think. Wishing change had never occurred, will do nothing but hold you back from life today. We must all live in the now, for the now, is all we have. It is not easy at all times, but to live in the past, is to ignore the present." he stated, before he took a step closer to her in the water. His blue eyes were focused upon her face as she looks upon her paws. He lowered is silver marked face, eyes searching for her own.

"You must live in the now. You must live here. Your past is not forgotten, it is a part of you. It makes you, who you are, so you can live, in the now." he said firmly, yet with a hidden passion that could be heard in his very vocals. His voice is deep, slow, and smooth. He wishes not to offend her, and there was always the chance someone would dislike his words. But maybe, the female needed his words. There is always that chance that his words would help, and that was enough for him. Yojimbo seemed to have a sense about him, where he can tell when he needs to say what he says. It is something he cannot explain, an intuition.

She finally lifts her head, and she seems to accept his name. The male steps back a bit, his gentle gaze still resting on the smaller female before. The female who enjoys the water. One whom he may have much to learn from, for he wonders what she has seen outside of Moladion. The wanderer within him, wishes to see more than this place, and it is always itching for him to leave. Yet, he will remain, at the very least until his daughter is grown.

She then speaks and he perks his dark ears forward to catch her name. Niviaq. He nods in acknowledgement.

"Niviaq, of the river, of peace, of tranquility." he echoed softly, soon after the female speaking once more. This time, of this place, of this land. How it once was, and how it is now. I let my eyes look about the trees once more. His eyes dart back to her when she speaks of feeling alone, and he closes them as he shakes his head softly. Yojimbo, always feels a sort of...sadness when one says they feel alone. Yojimbo knew the feeling, and yet, he knew how to conquer it.

"Trenus, was where I started to call home. Young Isola, wished me there, and wished me to someday be her 'adviser of things' as she put it. It was atop a plateau in Trenus, when the stars told me, that all should leave. I convinced, the King of Trenus to lead what wolves he could to safety. Soon after, a star fell on Moladion. I see that, maybe, you were one of Old Moladion. The wolves, all have changed. Yet, I see no worries to be had, of the changes over the years," he said calmly, his muzzle reaching out towards the sky when he speaks of the stars, and falling back down when he speaks of changes. He allows a small moment of silence, a time when the river trickles and the leaves dance on the bank.

"We, you and I, are never alone. The wind, is always riding on our backs. The trees, are always rustling. Grass and plants, are always reaching out for the sun. Life, is within everything, and is all around us. You must choose to acknowledge it. It is within your power, to not be truly alone. Only you, can isolate yourself." he said softly, turning his attention back to her completely, offering a small smile in her direction. Maybe, he was being a little harsh with his words, a little direct with his beliefs. He just feels that, no one should feel alone, and if they opened their eyes to the life around them, maybe they would not feel as such.

"Regardless, I am now here, with you. Alone, you never have to feel again." he said gently, his smile growing a little more in hopes of comforting the female. He did not wish to impede, and yet, let it be known that he was not afraid to accompany the female. He was not afraid to put himself out there, to offer his company when she wished to not be alone. It was the least he could do.
