Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

The existence of his father had always been a most curious thing to him - there had been so much mystery behind the male, Nero. Where had he gone for such lengths during Tesseract's childhood? What had made Ruvindra so foolishly choose another over him? As far as Tesseract knew, Nero was to Ruvindra as Caligula was to him. He was Ruvindra's soul, a part of her that she had been with and yet apart from. It was baffling to the young man's mind, particularly now that he had found himself in the position of being a father. Was he destined to disappear for such great periods of time, too? Was it somehow encoded in his blood as failure seemingly was with Ruvindra's? With his daughters nearing their first year of complete living, he had become more curious of his father once again - it seemed cyclical, he thought. For this, he had begun to track down the elusive Nero.

It had taken him some days to thoroughly trace the scent, one that he had clung to since his childhood. He'd expected to find his father lingering within Iromar's confines and yet, the scent lead to the outskirt of the pack - the the river, to be precise. At first, he had merely lingered, encircling the area in an effort to get a glance and location of the male. It went on for some hours before suddenly, his father began to sprint into the wilds. For a moment, he watched completely baffled before he followed suite, his legs eating up the ground beneath him. He watched his father so closely, keeping his distance before he began to change trajectory - it was his effort to cut the male off, to prevent him from this pointless running. There was naught but prey nor others. Why was he running? What purpose did such a thing serve? He had to know. If his mother had cursed him with the genes to fail then he needed to know what such insanity his father had undoubtedly fed into his makeup.

"Father."

He spoke loudly as he dashed in front of his father's figure some yards again, turning his head so as to meet the male's eyes with a stern look.

"Is this what you do? You run?"

He had to know. Is that what he had done so many years ago, on and on and on? Had he simply run?
