Lost by a River

The air was still, and the night was dark. The moon was covered by the thick of storm clouds, and when the wind blew, it was very strong. A shadow darted from the trees by a rock. The sound of water flowing calmly filled the night air. All was quite but the river. Sharp yellow eyes peered out from behind the rock. The clouds suddenly broke, and a streak of moonlight lit the ground. Smooth rock going downhill into the river, was disturbed as a medium sized wolf appeared. The wolf appeared to be a female. She had a coat made of gray that gleamed like silver, with a white underbelly and legs. The tip of her tail was also white, along with her face. From the edge of the tip on her tail, to her forehead was silver gray. Her eyes glowed in the moonlight, a bright greenish yellowish color. She was beautiful as some say, but feared by many. She was new to the forest, and had been exploring some of it most of the say. Here was her first stop. The moon disappeared again, and she was surrounded by darkness once more. A boom of thunder came off in the distance, and the she-wolfs pelt tingled. She sniffed the air, and the scent of a large storm was approaching rapidly. Wind blew, and her pelt ruffled, as it carried her sent down river. She found a crook in the rocks, and squeezed inside of it. It had rained the night she had arrived, and the floor of the small cave was dry, telling her it was a safe place to rest. She sniffed the cave to see if it was being used, only to find it vacant. She settled herself down, as the boom of thunder became louder. The sound of raindrops drummed against the roof of the cave, and she sniffed the cave once more. It was already raining so hard, her sent had been washed away. She was in the very back of the small cave, to stay as dry as possible. The splash of raindrops hit her paws every once in a while, so she tucked her paws up underneath her chest as she laid in the cave. She settled her head on the floor, of the cave. It was not rocky as she had expected it to be, it was sandy and comfortable. She closed her eyes, and let the sound of the rain lull her to sleep. She was in a light sleep, for she was still half awake, for she could still here the loud booms of thunder, and partly see the rapid flashes of lightning. This, would be a long, cold night.
